WHĀNAU NIGHT AT KIDS’ DOMAIN
Despite the rain, our centre was full of energy last week as our whānau joined us for an evening of connection, conversation, and exploration.
It was wonderful to see people moving through the spaces, engaging with the experiences, sharing ideas, and spending time together. There was a real sense of curiosity, creativity, and community throughout the evening.
These moments matter. They give us the opportunity to connect beyond the day-to-day, to share thinking, and to build a deeper understanding together around children’s learning.
A special thank you as well to our Governance Group Chair, Shivani Fox-Lewis, who we acknowledged on the night for her contribution to Kids’ Domain since 2020. We are incredibly grateful for all she has given to our community.
Thank you again to everyone who came along — we really value these opportunities to be together.

Kids’ Domain turns 40! 🎉
What a wonderful day it was celebrating 40 years of Kids’ Domain in our beautiful backyard — Pukekawa, the Auckland Domain. Surrounded by trees, sunshine, laughter, and whānau, it felt so special to mark this milestone in the place that’s been part of our story for so long.
As part of our celebration, tamariki and whānau contributed their travelling rocks to a collective artwork — a kererū sculpture by artist Dave McCracken. The kererū will stand at our entrance to Pukekawa, symbolising our shared stories, the mauri of this place, and our enduring connection with the whenua and community that surrounds us.
Ngā mihi nui to everyone who joined us to celebrate and to all who have helped shape Kids’ Domain over the last 40 years. 💚

Kids’ Domain celebrated Diwali this week. Our babies, toddlers, and preschoolers celebrated the Festival of Lights with joyful hearts — We dressed up in bright colours, painted beautiful rangoli, we had fun dancing, sharing delicious food, wearing bracelets, making lanterns, and enjoying henna designs.
We invited our parents to share a special lunch cooked by our amazing chefs 🪔💫
Here’s to spreading love, laughter, and light everywhere we go!l

We are honoured to celebrate a very special milestone — Charlotte D'Silva's 20th anniversary with us at Kids’ Domain.
Charlotte began her journey in the Infants and Toddlers room, studying while working and raising her family. She later moved to the Preschool, where her love of literacy, storytelling, and drama has shone through. Over the years, she has settled, nurtured, and guided generations of tamariki with warmth, patience, and care.
Quiet yet determined, with a wonderful sense of humour and a flair for the stage, Charlotte is both deeply respected and dearly loved by children, families, and colleagues. We are incredibly grateful for all that she has given to Kids’ Domain over the past two decades, and we celebrate her as a treasured and valued part of our whānau. 💛

A huge congratulations to Manjit!
We're celebrating 10 wonderful years of Manjit at Kids’ Domain. From the very first day our kitchen opened, she’s been at the heart of it all — creating delicious, nourishing food and filling our centre with her kindness, warmth, and care. Gentle, friendly, and deeply dedicated, Manjit builds beautiful connections with our tamariki, whānau, and team every single day. We’re so lucky to have you as part of our whānau, Manjit — here’s to many more years together! 💛✨

Talofa lava!
To finish off our Samoan Language Week celebrations, three of our wonderful staff put on a Samoan feast for us all to enjoy. A big fa‘afetai tele lava to Aggie, Nellie and Steph for the amazing spread – keke pua‘a, chop suey, pani popo, pineapple pie and koko Sāmoa – it was such a treat.
Thank you also to our kaiako for making the week special, with music and pani keke made with help from the tamariki (and eaten very quickly!).
We’ve really enjoyed celebrating Gagana Sāmoa together.
Ia manuia le a*o! 💛

WHAT A WONDERFUL WHĀNAU NIGHT!
A big thank you to all our amazing parents and whānau who braved the wet weather to join us last Thursday for a fun and engaging evening of hands-on experiences. It was great to see everyone connecting with other families and our teaching team. There was lots of laughter, creativity, great conversations, and some incredible ideas that will help shape our upcoming inquiries.
Our Kids' Domain kaiako really value these opportunities to spend time with you. It helps us better understand what’s important to you and your whānau, so we can work together to provide the very best care and education for your child.
If you missed out this time, we’d love to see you next year—come along and join the fun!
