So pleased - as a teacher - to have this recognition for the valuable learning my students do!

🎉 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗡𝗭!
Kia ora! We’re thrilled to announce that the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has officially recognised a range of our micro-credentials for equivalency on the NZQCF.

This means our qualifications are now benchmarked against national qualification levels.

👉 For students ngā ākonga, this provides added credibility and recognition of your hard work mahi.

👉 For teachers ngā kaiako and employers, it confirms the quality and value of Speech NZ qualifications.

We’re proud that our programmes in public speaking, communication, and performance are now recognised as part of New Zealand Aotearoa wider learning landscape.

These won’t turn up on your record of learning but allow you to articulate the depth of knowledge and commitment undertaken to achieve your qualification.

✨ Ngā mihi to our Speech NZ family whānau for helping us reach this milestone!

It is lean and economical, ensuring that every line, every description, every character development moves the story forward – and respects the audience’s imagination...

A growing number of children 𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘬𝘪 are starting school without the oral language skills they need to thrive, some can “barely string two words together.” Educators and advocates are sounding the alarm on the long-term impact this has on learning, wellbeing, and confidence.

The article highlights the urgent need to prioritise oracy (the ability to express oneself clearly in speech) across early education, and shares how organisations like Speech NZ are helping young people find their voice and build confidence for life.
