The Samoa Level 3 class and Samoa staff hosted another Ava Ceremony involving selected members of staff 💯

It was awesome to see a range of staff from departments and houses participate in this Ava!

The SAM3 class also put on a mini production titled “The IFOGA” which is one of aspects of Samoa culture that looks at forgiveness between groups of people, family or villages. It was an awesome experience for all! Thank you Mr Morisa and the SAM3 students for your effort ❤️

Yesterday, Papatoetoe High School proudly took centre stage at the celebration of 100 years of sporting unity between New Zealand and India 🇳🇿🤝🇮🇳

Some students from our Kapa Haka and Indian Cultural groups opened the event with powerful and vibrant performances.

A special highlight was hearing from former PHS student and Black Caps star Ish Sodhi, alongside White Fern Eden Carson, who spoke at the event. Ish shared how meaningful it was to see students from his own school opening such an important occasion, a true full-circle moment that made us incredibly proud.

We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the chance to represent our school.

- Ava Ceremony hosted by the Sāmoa staff & Mr Morisa’s Level 3 Gagana Sāmoa students for the Senior Leadership Team and Top 10 Prefects 🇼🇸

- Culture & Language lessons open to students and classes to engage with in the hall (hosted by Mr Morisa and the senior Sāmoa classes) 🇼🇸

- Sāmoa Karaoke Competition in the hall 🇼🇸

The staff team once again demonstrated an unwavering commitment to participation over results. It was a close call… until the second half. Final results were 2-0 to the students. We will let you guys have it this time 😆😆
