Kia ora koutou katoa and warm pacific greetings.

We were honoured last Thursday to formally acknowledge and welcome Rosanna Fouhy as the new Principal of Marcellin College during a special Mihi Whakatau attended by staff, students, whānau, and members of our wider school community. Rosanna officially commenced her role on Monday 18 May, with Kieran Fouhy concluding his time as Acting Principal on Tuesday 19 May.

The Board warmly welcomed not only Rosanna, but also the Fouhy whānau, recognising the important role whānau play in supporting the leadership of our proud kura. We also extend our sincere thanks to Sarah Kemble, Tumuaki of Carmel College, along with the kaiako and ākonga who joined alongside the Fouhy whānau in presenting their taonga to our school community as part of this significant occasion.

Rosanna brings a wealth of educational leadership experience, strength of character, and a deep commitment to Catholic education and the success of young people. The Board is confident that her faith-centred leadership and passion for ākonga wellbeing and achievement will continue to strengthen and guide Marcellin College into the future. Grounded in rich history, cultural diversity, dedicated kaimahi, and talented students, Marcellin College is blessed with a strong and vibrant community, and we are delighted to now call Rosanna part of our whānau.

The Board would also like to sincerely acknowledge and thank Kieran Fouhy for coming out of retirement to serve as Acting Principal over the past term and a half. Kieran’s experience, steady leadership, and commitment during this transitional period have been sincerely appreciated. His contribution as kaitiaki of our kura has ensured continuity, care, and support for our school community.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we warmly welcome Rosanna Fouhy to Marcellin College and wish her every blessing as she begins this new chapter of leadership within our kura.
