The learning environment supports student engagement and opportunities to foster student leadership. We expect students to make the most of the diverse range of opportunities on offer and to become active members of our learning community. Our teachers are committed and dedicated. They understand the importance of positive relationships and bring to our school a wide range of passions and experiences. They are tremendous role models who foster a positive attitude towards learning. Avondale College is looking forward to welcoming prospective students and their families at their Open Evening on Wednesday 29 July from 4-7pm. This is in the second week of Term 3. Guided tours will be leaving from the College's Atrium (Victor Street entrance) throughout the evening. Do allow plenty of time - there's a lot to see!

Avondale College will be accepting online enrolments for 2027 from the beginning of Term 3. In-zone applications should be lodged by 6 August and out-of-zone applications submitted by 4pm 2 September 2026.

On Tuesday, Paula Fakalata, Genevieve Mora, and Jazz Thornton from Voices of Hope spoke to our entire school, sharing their personal journeys and experiences with mental health challenges as young people.

Their inspiring message, “Be the director of your own movie,” encouraged students to take ownership of their choices, shape the future they want for themselves, seek support when needed, and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
