Ehara i te Mareikura noa iho, he rangatira, he pukenga toi, he kaiako ano.

It is with great sadness that the team at Dunedin Public Art Gallery acknowledges the passing of Marilynn Webb (Ngāti Kahu, Te Roroa).
As one of Aotearoa’s most distinguished artists, nationally and internationally acclaimed, Webb leaves a legacy of courage, strength and beauty that connects people across Aotearoa and the world. As an educator and mentor, Webb has been a generous teacher, guiding and inspiring future generations. As an advocate and an activist, Webb spoke out against injustice, violence and inequality. Her work was shaped by her love of the whenua, and the need to care for and protect people and places. It will endure as a testament to a remarkable artist, and reminder of the important issues that stand at the heart of her career.
Marilynn Webb (1937-2021).
