Saxophone/Recorder Tutor Wanted for Immediate Start

​We are urgently looking for a joint saxophone and recorder teacher for our Saturday classes, starting ASAP. Classes are between 8:40AM-12:20PM. Students are aged between 6 -12 years old and classes are group lessons up to 7 students per class. Class levels range from beginners to approx. Grade 3.

Note: you must be reliable and available to work Saturday mornings during the school term. We teach from the Learn As You Play Saxophone book (Classical with some Jazz and Rock) and the Progressive Recorder series of books. Applicants MUST be able to read music and explain the music theory to students.

We are a great community of teachers and whānau. If you are interested, we would love to hear from you!

We have a few music tutor vacancies shown below for 2022 at Birkdale North Music Centre.

Guitar/Ukulele - Saturday morning.
Drum - Saturday morning.

The candidate:
Must be confident in teaching children aged from 5 to 12.
Must be able to manage class size up to a group of 10 students.
Must have the ability to teach music lessons on Zoom during a lockdown.
Good communication.
Police vetting is required.
A full Covid vaccination is required.

Hope everyone is surviving through lockdown so far! Just a quick update to confirm we will be continuing with online lessons throughout lockdown, and based on previous lockdown requirements we will likely only be able to return to classroom lessons when we return to level 1. We will keep you posted on any updates to how music lessons are delivered.
