Maungawhau School Mt Eden - Creating Community Spirit

Please join us at this free whānau-focussed community event at Ballantyne Square on Dominion Road. An immersive Matariki celebration, led by mana whenua, grounded in the whakapapa of Maungawhau and the kōrero of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, in collaboration with the Roots, for the Albert-Eden Local Board area.

For those of us around Mt Eden, By The Bottle on Mt Eden Rd (next to Wild Wheat) is a bit of a local gem so if you haven't checked them out yet you really need to. It’s an easy go-to for weeknight wines, special bottles, and everything in between. They really have a fantastic selection with a really nice mix of NZ producers as well as some interesting finds from further afield. The team are great if you need a little advice!

Not only do they also run free tastings most Saturdays, and occasionally relaxed “locals nights” where they team up with a winemaker to showcase a few wines, they can also help organise private tastings if you’re ever looking to do something a bit different with friends.

Such a nice low-key way to try something new and enjoy our staying local in our awesome little pocket of Mt Eden 🍷🍾🍇.... not to mention supporting local of course!
