Aikido Seiryukan's Spring Seminar is coming up and Early Bird registration finishes this month, so best to book soon!

SPRING SEMINAR

Seiryukan is pleased to announce our 2026 Spring Seminar in Christchurch is now open for registration.

The seminar will be held on the weekend of 17/18 October and the guest instructor is Atsushi Mimuro Shihan.

Mimuro Shihan is a highly respected 7th Dan Shihan and the Director of Yokohama International Aikido Club in Japan. He was a devoted student of Seigo Yamaguchi Shihan training with him for over 20 years and was deeply influenced by Yamaguchi Sensei’s fluid aikido.

The Spring Seminar is an excellent opportunity to develop and extend your aikido and I hope you will come along and enjoy a great weekend. We are also holding a informal dinner on Saturday night and I hope you will come to that too.

Our aikidoka had an incredible time on the mat during today's Women's Workshop! Sessions were thought-provoking, energetic and reminded us to keep 'pulling toffee'. Thank you to Claudia Hill and Danielle van Strien for your instruction, and to those from other clubs who made the effort to attend. The atmosphere in the dojo was magic. See you all next time!

Last weekend was the Hamilton & Cambridge grading at the Hamilton Dojo. Great turnout and some really good aikido on show - well done everyone and thank you to Sarah Baker Sensei for the instruction.

Jeffrey Robinson Sensei will be teaching this Tuesday - come along for a nice, flowing session and work on your technique. All welcome.

A huge thank you to Alex Pearson Sensei for flying up from the Deep South and delivering an amazing workshop yesterday. Alex demonstrated his teaching chops with a well structured and paced 4 hour session that had something for everyone - from Gokyu to Godan.
