What a beautiful Samoan Language Week!

This week, our focus was on learning and using Gagana Samoa both in the classroom and in the playground. It has been fantastic to see our tamariki embracing the language with such enthusiasm and pride.

A huge congratulations to all of our performers at Friday's assembly. We are so proud of the confidence and passion they showed.

A special shout-out to Zahlia, who wowed us with an incredible lunchtime performance. Zahlia recently travelled to Hawaii to compete in the 33rd World Fireknife Competition, placing an amazing 4th in the world against some of the finest fireknife performers internationally. What an outstanding achievement Zahlia!

Please enjoy our highlights clip and a few snaps from our celebrations.

🌈 What a day! Last Friday, we held our first-ever Whole School Colour Fun Run, and it was a huge hit! There were smiles, laughter, and colour everywhere from start to finish.

A big thank you to Miss McDonell for the vision, and to our amazing staff and whānau who helped make the day possible.

JUMPING JUNE IS ALMOST HERE!

Our tamariki will be getting active, building their skipping skills, and having fun along the way!

Every child will receive their own skipping rope to join in. Whānau and friends can support by donating through our school fundraising page. Funds also support the Heart Foundation, who are providing the skipping ropes for our students.

The Heart Foundation will send our skipping ropes once we kick off fundraising… let’s go!!!

Our kura was full of pink on Friday! It was awesome seeing our tamariki celebrating kindness, inclusion, and standing together against bullying for Pink Shirt Day.

Check out the video to see all the happy faces and just how good everyone looked in pink! https://youtu.be/lCHSAlRXxpU

A huge thank you to our whānau for getting behind the day and supporting with gold coin donations. We’re proud of the aroha and positivity shining across our school!

Last week our tamariki had two awesome experiences. So different… but both packed with rich learning and great vibes!

Te Ahi Ora – Fire & Flow
Building confidence, connection, and resilience through the ancient art of fire performance.
🎥 Watch the highlights: https://youtu.be/wo0bas5T_js

A visit to the Whau
Our tamariki stepped into the role of environmental scientists. Testing water, observing closely, and asking thoughtful questions. They’ll keep monitoring our awa this year as part of the journey to make it swimmable again. 👉 Swipe to see them in science action!

These are moments we love - learning beyond the classroom and connecting with our community in meaningful ways. A huge thanks to Josh from Te Ahi Ora and Catherine from Te Whau Pathway Environment Trust for helping make these experiences happen!
