We do love our fruit trees here at MBCCβ¦ this little orange tree is producing great big oranges for us this year. This afternoon we picked one and cut it up to share with friends. The children described the fruit as sticky, cold, sweet and sour - the smell and taste was a sensory delight for our tamariki! Delicious! π§‘ππππππ§‘

They are loving this special new addition to the playground, as well as the lovely new load of bark that was delivered last week. π So much fun to be had outside here at Murrays Bay Childcare! πππ

Our beautiful pounamu inspired clay pendants are back from their final firing at the kiln. This is a project that Palak and our older children at MBCC have been working on for a few weeks now and everyone has been eagerly anticipating having their finished pendant to take home. The careful application of the glaze by Palak and the tamariki has resulted in the beautiful green glossy finish you see here. Each pendant can now have their cords applied and be packed up for taking home. What a beautiful and meaningful Matariki project.

Great news! Our pounamu inspired pendants are back from their first firing (the bisque firing) in the community kiln and they all survived! π
Now they can have a clear glaze applied and be sent back for their final firing. Such an exciting process! πππ
