Our Netball Premiers produced the highlight of Tournament Week when they won the UNISS Competition today, closely followed by our Football Girls 1st XI, who were runners-up at the NZSS tournament. Read all about it in this week's MAGS Newsletter:

Yesterday was kiwifruit transplant day on the ASB MAGS Farm & Experience Centre with nearly 100 Sungold vines planted out by senior agricultural classes.
Male vines were positioned in a checkers formation throughout the centre of the orchard to maximise pollination opportunities for the female vines.
Simon Craig, general Manager for Punchbowl Packco Ltd, assisted with transplanting vines throughout the afternoon and shared about how Punchbowl operates at every step along the value chain for kiwifruit in New Zealand.

Congratulations to our Netball Premiers who had a hard-fought 41-39 win over St Kentigern College in the Auckland Final on Wednesday night.
Our Juniors were also impressive earlier in the evening, with the Year 9 Mystics beating Howick College 27-25 in their final, while the Year 10 Firebirds were just edged out 34-36 in their final against St Kentigern.

Excitement is building with the opening of the Student Art Expo at MAGS tomorrow. The show runs from 9.30am to 4.00pm in the F.W. Gamble Hall with a coffee cart and bake sale on site.
This morning, winning student works were announced, and among the many winners were:
Senior Painting & Mixed Media Winner: Jasmine Walker for 'Playfighting', Senior Digital Design winner: Kingi Cousins for 'S, Senior Photography winner: Sophie Ball for 'Emily', and Best in Show Wearable Art Award winners Olivia Appleton, Isla Nimmo and Emily Duke for 'Bloom Beneath the Waste'.

Upcoming Premier Sport:

Today, the Football Boys 1st XI play Selwyn College at St Peter's at 6.00pm. Both our Basketball Premier teams are home tonight in their final game of the Auckland season, with the Girls playing Westlake Girls at 6.00pm and the Boys up against Westlake Boys at 7.30pm.
Tomorrow, the Netball Premiers, who are still undefeated at the top of the table, play Howick College at Auckland Netball at 9.30am.
On Wednesday, the Football Girls 1st XI, who beat Takapuna Grammar 2-0 this week in the semis, will play the APC Final against St Kentigern at Michaels Ave at 2.00pm. The Boys 1st XI Hockey are playing for 3rd/4th v Kristin at the Mount Roskill Grammar Turf at 5:15pm
On Thursday, our Badminton Premier Girls play King's College at Auckland Badminton at 5pm. The Girls 1st XI Hockey game is TBC.

Our amazing Arts Leaders have been putting in long hours this week getting the Student Art Expo ready in the hall. Come check the show out this Saturday in the hall, 9.30am-4pm.
