The sun shone brightly yesterday, almost as if it wanted to join our little carpentry adventure.

At the corner of outdoor, the Bear tamariki gathered around the tools with a sense of purpose, tiny hands confidently sawing, hammering, drilling, and tightening screws.

Each sound felt like part of a rhythm, a busy little orchestra of learning and joy 😆

What amazed us most was their calm patience. Tamariki waited for their turn, watching closely, cheering each other on, and swapping tools with such kindness and care.

Soon, the lively clinks and taps of woodworking drifted across the playground. Even the tamariki who had been halfway up the feijoa tree paused, listened, and hurried over to see what was happening.

One by one, they joined the circle, adding their laughter and curiosity to the moment!!

By the end, the whole playground felt connected, tools in motion, ideas flowing, and tamariki working side by side under the warm, generous sunshine.

A simple activity became a shared story, full of joy. 🤩

World Bee Day reminds us how important bees and other pollinators are for the health of our environment and our communities.

Lest we forget

This morning we brought some of our tamariki to the ANZAC Cenotaph at Waikumete Cemetery. Our little ones placed poppy flower wreaths with their tiny hands as we paid our respects.

Throughout this week’s ANZAC activities, our tamariki have been learning about the true meaning behind ANZAC Day, courage, remembrance, and gratitude.

It was a meaningful and heartfelt trip for all of us. ❤️
