Online GP care now free for all under-14s

With lots of winter illnesses about right now, health services are experiencing very high demand. If you need to speak to a GP and can’t get in to your usual doctor or its after hours, Online GP provides a great option for accessing safe and quick care. The service is available from anywhere in the country, anytime day or night, and is now free for all under-14s.

Appointments usually take place through a video app or a phone call, and the service can prescribe medicine and send prescriptions to your nearest pharmacy.

It also provides another care option for rural communities, reducing the need to travel.

This week we are excited to celebrate Uike 'o e Lea Tonga (Tongan Language Week).

This year’s theme is: "Ko 'etau hiva, ko e fe'unu mahu'inga ia ki he mo'ui 'a e Tonga" (Our songs are a vital strand in Tongan life)

Our students will be engaging in learning activities, songs, and cultural experiences throughout the week to honor the rich culture and language of Tonga.

We warmly invite our entire school community to join us for a special celebration.

Dear Whānau and School Community,

We know many of our tamariki are very excited about the latest Woolworths collectables campaign (ooshies), and we love seeing their enthusiasm for these fun items!

However, we kindly ask that all toys, including these collectables remain at home rather than coming to school.

While they are fantastic for home play and swapping with family, at school they have become a significant distraction during class time and break times. Because these items are in high demand, we have also had unfortunate situations where they have gone missing or been misplaced, which leads to upset students and lost learning time.

To ensure our classrooms remain focused and break times stay fun and stress-free for everyone, please double-check that all toys stay safely at home. Any toys brought to school will be safely stored by the teacher until the end of the day for a parent or caregiver to collect.

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation in keeping our school a safe, focused, and positive space for all our learners.

This August marks the launch of New Zealand's first National oral Health Month. There are four weekly themes - Check, Brush, Connect, & Protect - each designed to help students build healthy habits for life.

Great news - renovations on our School Hall have officially begun! While the scaffolding and workmen have sparked plenty of student excitement, this long-awaited project will give our community a safer, warmer, and more pleasant space to gather.

What you need to know starting Monday:

Desford Place Back Gate Users: You will follow a temporary new path into the school grounds while work is in progress.

See Attached Map: Please review the photo attached to this message for the exact route.

Staff on Hand: A team member will be at the gate in the morning to lend a helping hand and show you where to go.
