NCEA novel study texts for 2022. 📚 📖

Loving the variation in film study texts this year. One of the film choices for NCEA Level 3 is Pan’s Labyrinth by Guillermo del Toro. A film set after the Spanish Civil War that symbolises the importance of individual’s freedom and the responsibility to trust their instincts in the midst of loss. To find their own voice and make their own choices. It’s a dark and tragic movie but definitely worth a watch! It encompasses a great voyage of self discovery and character formation. Loved it!!

Today, I discovered that one
of my students has taken up a subject at school titled 'Mindful Reading'. How I wish we had a subject like this growing up. Learning to mindfully acknowledge thoughts and distractions and continue reading is a powerful skill❤️

Sometimes rules are meant to be broken, especially when it comes to the English language. 😉
