St Peter’s was represented by 8 athletes at the 2026 NZSS Road Relay Festival in Hamilton. Hosted by Hamilton Hawks Harrier club and set along the Waikato River, athletes competed in teams of 4, each running a 2.5km leg in a relay format. Our junior (under-16) team of Harrison Skewes (10RIC), Ollie Cheetham (10TRE), Jasper Hinton (11NOL) and Monty Caesar (10ODR) won the junior boys race with a commanding performance and a 1:02 minute lead over Tauranga Boys and Auckland Grammar. Our senior boys (under-19) team – Noah Lazayres (13TRE), Jackson Pinique (12RIC), George Howcroft (12BOD) and Finn Molloy (11LYN) were 5th in the senior boys’ race.

Top-of-the-table clash for the Middle School Hockey team this morning vs Somerville. Given the wet weather and waterlogged turf, the boys had a clear brief - short passes or carry the ball yourself to get through the water. Also, leave no Somerville player unmarked.

The team played the best game of the season! Using every skill they practised during training, they kept possession for around 70% of the game. And every time they lost the ball, they fought hard to achieve a turnover.

Team effort, along with great communication, positioning, and sheer grit and determination, paid off, and they came away with the win 3-0, ending their season at the top of the table!
