Literacy is shared and celebrated across all rooms here at Busy Bees, and we absolutely love when our older tamariki come to visit, sing songs, and read pukapuka/books with us. These special moments create wonderful opportunities for learning, connection, and tuakana-teina relationships as the younger children look up to and learn from their older peers.
Through shared reading, storytelling, and singing together, we are building on our communication, pronunciation, language, and early literacy skills. The tamariki are developing confidence to express themselves, listen to others, recognise sounds and words, and foster a love for pukapuka/books and learning in a fun and meaningful way.

We love experimenting with water and bubbles, building our coordination while exploring new concepts through play. The tamariki are developing their fine motor skills as they scoop, pour, and mix, while also discovering cause and effect. These hands-on experiences encourage curiosity, creativity, and a growing understanding of the world around them🫧

What a wonderful Easter PJ Day we had✨️🐰

Our tamariki loved coming dressed in their cozy pyjamas and had such a fun-filled day together. They got creative making movie tickets for our movie theatre, crafted their own bunny ears, and enjoyed a very exciting Easter egg hunt. After collecting tokens, they were able to swap them for a real chocolate egg on their way home🍫
We also had lots of dancing to Easter songs and music, and enjoyed some delicious hot cross buns for morning tea.

Such a special day full of fun, creativity, and smiles💛🐰🌞

This morning, our tamariki had a wonderful time baking feijoa cupcakes, using fresh feijoas harvested straight from a tree! 🌿🧁 Our amazing little bakers were busy mixing, measuring, and taking turns, building their hand-eye coordination and exploring early math skills along the way.
