Connection, community, and a passion for helping others grow.💜

From moving across the world to building a career in ECE, Emma Parker’s journey has been shaped by the people, experiences, and values that inspired her along the way.

“Because this ‘piece of paper’… is really just the beginning.” ✨

After returning to Aotearoa with her daughter and rebuilding life from the ground up, Nicola Helmink stood on stage as NZTC’s student speaker at last Saturday’s graduation ceremony (30 May), representing a cohort shaped by resilience, courage and growth.

During the ceremony, Nicola was also surprised with the NZTC Values Award, recognising the empathy, authenticity and resilience she demonstrated throughout her journey.

Her story is a beautiful reminder that graduation is about more than completing a qualification. It’s about the decisions, sacrifices and moments of growth that shape who we become along the way. 💜

Celebrating Samoan Language Week with our Lecturer, Joy McLelland. 💜

This week, Joy is sharing the beautiful Samoan song Savalivali with us, a simple and meaningful way to celebrate language, culture, and connection through music.

✨ Savalivali – go for a walk
✨ Tautalatala – too much talk
✨ Alofa ia te oe – I love you
✨ Fai fai lēmu – take it easy, take your time

Save this idea to try in your centre
Happy Samoan Language Week!
