Librarian Visit Story TimeπŸ‡πŸ“–πŸŽΆ

Today we had a wonderful visit from a librarian β€” and it was a real treat for our tamariki. With props in hand, the librarian told a vibrant story about a rabbit. The children were completely captivated β€” listening closely, singing songs with the librarian, moving their hands and even dancing along.
After the story finished, each child was excited to receive a little stamp on their hand β€” a fun souvenir to remind them of the special time.
The session was more than just a story: it sparked their imaginations, supported their listening and language skills, and brought smiles and joy as they shared the experience together.

This week our tamariki enjoyed lots of lively, hands-on play. They painted and scribbled with enthusiasm, and outdoors loved playing in the sandpit, riding bicycles, and having fun with hula hoops.
We also had a beautiful time of story time β€” children sat together and listened as kaiako read a book aloud, and you could see their imaginations come alive. As the story unfolded, many wandered off in their minds to magical places, imagining characters, adventures and far-off worlds. The storytime helped build their listening, language and creative thinking skills.

A favourite highlight was our playful game when kaiako asked them to pick up items like a toy dinosaur, a circle, or a square. This helped with their shape recognition, listening, and following instructions β€” all while having fun.
It truly was a joyful week of creativity, movement, imagination and learning.
