The Vines Early Learning We're a family owned and operated childcare centre located in the vibrant community of Henderson. The Vines is simply a great place to grow.

A home away from home where children are supported, respected, encouraged, and challenged. We provide exceptional care and education for children aged 3 months to 6 years old. The Vines is a safe, nurturing place where your child will flourish and grow. The rich, varied opportunities at our Henderson early learning centre will stimulate your child’s sense of wonder, creativity, and passion for learning, encouraging them to explore, experiment and discover the world around them.

As Matariki approaches✨🌟, our tamariki explored the meanings of Tupu-ā-nuku and Tupu-ā-rangi, the stars that remind us to value food from the earth and from above.
We harvested potatoes from our garden🌱🥔, with children excitedly digging them up from the soil. They helped wash the potatoes, and then supported in preparing them for cooking.
We shared the cooked potatoes together, celebrating the journey from garden to table and giving thanks for the gifts of the whenua. This hands-on experience helped tamariki learn where food comes from, the importance of caring for the environment, and the joy of sharing kai as a community.
As we celebrate Matariki, we reflect on gratitude, connection, and coming together to learn and grow.

What a wonderful day celebrating Festa Junina!🤠🤠 Our tamariki had so much fun embracing this vibrant Brazilian tradition through music, dancing, games, crafts, and delicious treats.
Our children looked fantastic in their country-inspired outfits and enjoyed learning about the cultural significance of this joyful festival. It was a beautiful opportunity to explore diversity, celebrate different traditions, and create lasting memories together.💚❤️💙💜💛🩷

A big thank you to our wonderful families for helping make this celebration so special. We loved seeing everyone's smiles and enthusiasm!

We proudly celebrated Samoan Language Week, embracing the beautiful language, culture, and traditions of Samoa.

Our tamariki enjoyed learning simple Samoan greetings and songs, exploring Samoan arts and crafts, and participating in cultural activities that helped deepen their understanding of Samoa's rich heritage. Through these experiences, children developed an appreciation for diversity, respect for different cultures, and a sense of belonging within our multicultural community.

We would like to thank our families for supporting our celebrations and sharing their knowledge, experiences, and cultural treasures with us. Together, we continue to create an environment where every language and culture is valued and celebrated.

Fa'afetai tele lava to everyone who helped make this week so special. We look forward to continuing our journey of learning and celebrating the many cultures that make our centre unique.

🚧 Construction Zone in Action! 🚧
Our tamariki have been busy exploring, building, and creating. Through hands-on play with blocks, tools, loose parts, and building materials, children are developing problem-solving skills, teamwork, creativity, and confidence.
Construction play encourages mathematical thinking, spatial awareness, communication, and perseverance—all while having lots of fun!

It has been wonderful to see imaginations come to life as our young builders create houses, roads, towers, and construction sites. We can't wait to see what they build next!
