Robert is a passionate performing arts education specialist. He utilises the performing arts to advocate for young people and the arts, and inspire positive growth in his students and community. A highly experienced, globally traveled, IB and IGCSE Drama/Theatre trained practitioner, Robert is also a freelance director and musician. Previous directing credits in Auckland, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong K

ong and Wellington have included: Disney's The Jungle Book Kids, Aida: School Edition, The Miracle Worker, Disney's Winnie the Pooh Kids, Tarzan, The Polkadots and Auckland Philharmonia's Magic Carpet Ride (Auckland Town Hall), Annie Jr. Shrek Jr., Music & Vocal Director for Grease and The Little Mermaid, and more. Robert holds a masters degree in Drama and Theatre for Young People with Distinction(Charles Sturt University, Australia). He was also included on the Executive Dean's List in recognition of outstanding academic performance throughout the degree.

The Concert Band played really well today in the KBB Music Festival. The band was started in 2024 with just 11 students and we went on a trip to the festival to watch other Concert Bands perform. Then last year we doubled in size and entered the KBB Music Festival for the very first time and received a Highly Commended award.

This year, David Stent, Director of Performing Arts at Dilworth, who has been the MC for our school both years said that this is the best he has heard us play and he could really hear the growth of the band - so that was lovely feedback. We now have 28 in the band! 🧡

Excited for our Concert and Jazz Bands this week! 🧡

Thanks to our awesome KBBMF team the stage is all set, venues and warmup rooms are ready and there we’re all ready to go for tomorrow’s KBB Music Festival.

The piano is having its tuning finessed and the adjudicators are arriving in Auckland so they can get a good night’s sleep before things kick out at 9:30am tomorrow morning.
