What's our job at Orewa Preschool?
Besides to make sure your child is safe, warm, and welcomed, our job is to help them find the magic.
We spend time every day setting up learning experiences your child can select and enjoy, and help them find the magic right there
We follow their lead, we help them develop ideas and we accept their play as essential, important and valued
It's why we keep our ratios low - so your child gets individual interactions and attention.

It looks like these two are just making a zoo
But they're also developing language, thinking about science (classification), using maths and engineering (fitting everyone into the different strutures), learning negotiation and working together, taking turns, and also staying focussed in a task.
And when it's time to pack up, they'll be repsonsible for putting everything away where it's meant to be.
All of these skills are learned through play
And they're learned in a home-away-from-home envrionment.
All of these skills helps these two prepare for school, and help them become more confident about taking risks, and learning new things.

We've currently got spaces. Want to come take a look at our little centre? We have low ratios and the atmosphere is warm and enriching.

What's one of the best reasons to enrol your child in a preschool?
Being able to connect with, socialise and make deep friendships can help your child be more confident, learn natural boundaries, and develop the art of negotiation.

With their peers, they need different relating strategies than with siblings or parents.

And, it's a lot of fun finding other people you like to hang out with too.
