Health and PE have been our priority this term at Te Hapori. Students have engaged in a variety of activities to promote an active lifestyle and healthy menu. Students have attended regular sessions of Functional Adaptive Movement (FAM) and YMCA gym. They have also engaged in gym sessions at our Tripoli base site gym.
A group of Te Hapori students have also participated in Kai Crew. Kai Crew is a learning opportunity where students plan a shopping trip, from writing a list, buying the items in the supermarket and preparing their meals at school. A great life skill to learn, but also an opportunity to reflect on the things we bring to our plates.
Last but not least, physical activity can be expressed in many different ways, and it is even better when it incorporates the students' passions. Therefore, some of our learners have participated in hip hop and kapa haka sessions run by different community organisations. Thanks for your support and enjoy the photos. Te Hapori Team.

This term, our Panmure District School satellite 1 tamariki have been diving deep into everything Kiwiana, learning all about New Zealandโs iconic symbols, values, and rich culture. It has been so wonderful watching them confidently identify different Kiwi icons around the room! ๐ฅ๐จ
The absolute highlight so far? Our Kiwiana Tasting Day! ๐ฆ๐ฅง From scooping sweet Hokey Pokey ice cream to munching on classic pies and crunchy ANZAC biscuits, our little learners definitely approved of the menu. ๐
Check out some of our proud tamariki and their happy, ice-cream-covered smiles below! ๐๐ธ

Owairoa Primary School satellite learners have had an incredible term exploring the great outdoors. From getting outside for sports skills with weekly cricket lessons from Ellerslie Cricket Club, to walking the top of Maungarei (Mount Wellington) and around the Sommerville School area, weโve been making the most of the fresh air.
But out of all our adventures, our daily visits to the Owairoa beehives definitely takes the crown!

Sylvia Park School satellite 1 has had an absolutely exciting Term 2! We had a wonderful trip to the movies, walking over to Sylvia Park where everyone was thrilled to have the entire movie theatre all to ourselves. Another massive highlight was our trip to Kiwi Valley Farm. We had lots of fun there getting to ride on horses, going on a bumpy tractor ride to see the animals, and even getting to feed the animals ourselves. We also had swimming throughout this term where students are more confident in the water. To make the term even more special, we celebrated Sommerville's 60th, and our students contributed to amazing 3D artwork. It has truly been a term to remember.

๐ธ โจ Learning, Exploring, and Making a Splash! โจ ๐ธ
Our Anchorage Park School satellite learners have been incredibly busy exploring the world around them, engaging their senses, and having an absolute blast while doing it! Here is a little peek into what weโve been up to lately:
๐ถโโ๏ธ Community Walks: Weโve been taking our learning on the road! Our community walks are a fantastic way for students to practice pedestrian safety, connect with our local neighborhood, and build real-world social skills. Plus, the fresh air is always a win!
๐ฎ The Magic Movement Room: Inside, the fun doesn't stop! Students have been exploring our specialized Magic Movement Room. Whether they are navigating sensory obstacles, balancing, or expressing themselves through physical play, this space is doing wonders for their gross motor skills and emotional regulation.
๐ฆ Water Play Fun: Splish, splash! Nothing brings out the smiles quite like water play. Beyond the pure joy of splashing, our students are secretly working on fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and early science concepts (like sinking vs. floating) through pouring, scooping, and measuring.
We are so incredibly proud of how our students challenge themselves, support one another, and bring so much energy to school every single day. ๐

โจ Kahurangi celebrates Vaiaso o le gagana Sฤmoa! โจ
Our young adult learners in Kahurangi had a full week immersing themselves in the vibrant culture of Samoa! As well as learning some Samoan phrases and songs together, they also dove into hands-on learning experiences with great enthusiasm. Students explored Siapo patterns in a sensory art session, then everyone's individual pieces were then brought together to create a stunning collaborative Siapo.
The learning continued in the kitchen, where learners helped cook Sapasui (chop suey) and sweet Pani Popo (coconut buns). We gathered together for a spectacular feast, made extra special by even more Samoan mea'ai (food) generously brought in by one of our wonderful Teacher Aides and her family. Delicious!
Fa'afetai tele lava to everyone who made this week of culture, connection, and kai so memorable for our students!
