“Daffodil Lemonade!”

Continuing on with Daffodil celebrations, our tamariki made their very own lemonade, using bright yellow lemons! Using half a lemon each, everyone squeezed their own juice directly into their cups, working hard on their fine motor skills and filling the room with fresh citrus scents.

Tasting the raw juice brought out the most hilarious puckered “sour faces” but as soon as Kaiako Loru & Stephanie added a touch of raw sugar and water, their faces lit up with huge smiles, enthusiastic “yummys” and a thumbs up all round! It was a wonderful, vibrant afternoon filled with sensory discovery, laughter, and bright yellow fun in support of a great cause!

“Everything Yellow for Daffodil Day!”

Our tamariki celebrated Daffodil Day surrounded by everything yellow! Wearing their brightest sunny outfits, they eagerly dipped their brushes into bright yellow paint, creating beautiful daffodil masterpieces to show their support.

Through these beautiful yellow creations, we share a gentle moment together to show love for those currently going through cancer treatment, and to softly remember the precious lives of those who have passed away. We are so proud of our little ones for showing so much kindness and community spirit!

Malo e lelei Famili!

This week at Grace our fanau celebrated Tongan language week. The official theme for 2026 is “Ko etau hi a, ko e fe’unu mahu’inga ia ki he mo’ui e Tonga” - “Our music is a vital strand of our Tongan culture”

We celebrated with dancing, music, learning the colors in the Tongan language, made the Tongan flag and even made a refreshing Tongan mango otai!

One of the most beloved Tongan proverbs that beautifully connects traditional wisdom with our Christian faith is “Oua lau e kafo, kae lau e lava”, which translates to “Stay positive and count your blessings.”
