Silverdale Playcentre and registered Social Worker, Kylie Ryan, are hosting a fun and laid back workshop to help you navigate some of the tough conversations you might find yourself having with your pre-school and primary aged kids.

Following this workshop you will:

▪️Know what your child needs to know about puberty and sexuality at what age
▪️Feel confident having open and honest conversations about things like how babies are made, what periods are etc in an age appropriate way, that works for your family.
▪️Be able to keep your children safe online.
▪️Gain awareness of sexual abuse and how to prevent sexual harm happening to your children.

Kylie has worked in the field of sexuality education, sexual harm prevention, and mental health for over 24 years.

All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to Silverdale Playcentre.

[We felt the warm and gentle rays of the sun this morning! Parents relaxed, kids played, and it felt like spring had arrived!]

Hurō! E haruru ana te whare o te Puna Reo Māori o te Whānau Tupu Ngātahi i te kaupeka tuatoru o te tau! He mahana pai te whare, he kaha te katakata a ngā tamariki. Mauri ora ki a koutou! 🌟🔥☔️

[We had a noisy whare for the first day of Term 3, full of laughter and warmth!]

Inā, te ātaahua hoki o tō tātou whare! I te wā o te hararei kirihimete, i whakahou mātou i te papa o te whare. Waihoki, ētahi o ngā mātua kerēwa rawaatu i whakariterite anō i ngā taputapu tākaro, kia whāia pai ai te wairua tau! 🌞🌟

[Look at our beautiful whare! Over the Xmas holidays the lino floor in the whare was re-done, and some of our clever parents re-arranged the furniture and toys!]

[Hi everyone! This year we are focusing on the Māori gods, with one for each term of the year. The first god is Tangaroa, the god of the sea and fish. We have a display set up, and a pool full of sea creatures to explore!]

(This Monday, the Te Puna Reo whānau went to the local marae, Te Herenga Waka o Ōrewa. The guests who had never been to the marae before were welcomed by the local people. The kids were taught how to plant seeds, and are waiting for their sunflowers to grow!)
