Some of my favourite study techniques to share with your teen this weekend πβ¨
There's no getting around the fact that the more effort students put in, the better their results are going to be.
But at the same time, too many students report getting disappointing results even when they DO study π°
Where are they going wrong?!
In all likelihood they're not using one or more or ALL of the techniques set out here.
Show me a teen using all of these study techniques, and I'll show you a teen getting amazing results, CONSISTENTLY.
What's your teen struggling with the most when it comes to studying at the moment?

A few pics from Saturday's workshop! π€βοΈπ
It was so nice to actually meet students in person (you have your place Zoom but I am NOT a fan!).
I would love to do more of these next year. We can cover so much ground in 2-3 hours in person β the workshop proved the power of group work and in-person interactions.
One of the other highlights was the resources provided by β thank you so much for supporting students with your invaluable resources, you were so enthusiastic and generous ππ½ππ
Now all students have to do is... actually study π¬πβοΈππ

Just a reminder that no one needs 'perfect' grades to go to uni, or to get a good job, or to have a successful career, or to be happy.
I never got 'straight A's'.
What mattered is that I tried hard and was consistent overall.
I wasn't dux or valedictorian.
The perfection mindset is only hindering at best, completely counterproductive at worst.
Sending love and the best of luck to all of the teens studying right now.

With NCEA exams starting 4 WEEKS TODAY β is your teen feeling confused? daunted? overwhelmed? stuck?
They are very much not alone.
But it truly does not need to be this way.
You will never hear me say that "studying is easy!" or "anyone can get straight A's"...
But what I WILL and DO say is β all teenagers are capable of putting together a solid plan for their exam study, studying the topics that actually matter, looking at some past exams, and getting a result that is much closer to their true ability.
After seeing so many teens flail and fail I couldn't just sit by and watch. I knew that I could share my study process with other students and that they could adapt it to suit their learning needs. Which is why I started Cram Lab two years ago.
Your teen doesn't have to study alone, and they don't have to figure it out on their own.
The tips and resources available at cramlab.org have been specifically designed for teenagers, to fill the ginormous gap between what gets taught at school and the skills teens need to sit exams.
If your teen feels like they're being asked to climb Mt Everest without any climbing gear, Cram Lab is here to help.
For PRACTICAL tips & resources head to www.cramlab.org/start-here, where you can sign up to receive the free Learning Styles Quiz to get your teen's study on the right track ππππ

Some last minute exam tips that got me through those intense weeks of exams to share with your teen ππ
I still remember the feeling of being in the middle of exams so vividly! At the start of exam study you felt like it was going to be the longest three weeks of your life, and that you were basically going to have zero fun until they were over.
Looking back I think yes it was tough studying for so many exams all at once, but as clichΓ©d as it is - and something my Dad used to always say - no pain no gain.
It was an awesome feeling getting results back, still in the middle of summer, finding out that all of that hard work paid off.
That's what I would love your teen to experience too, and they can if they knuckle down now. Regardless of what grades they're aiming for, every teen should get to experience the feeling of knowing that they tried their best and the hard work paid off.

I had to save the best one for last...
SO often I hear from parents, "my teen just doesn't know what to do".π
If your teen feels like they're starting up at Mt Everest from the very bottom and they've forgotten all of their climbing gear, they are exactly who I put this guide together for.
And instead of just listing out my favourite study techniques, this guide sets out HOW to study for EACH of high school's main subjects, one by one.
No teen should have to start their exam study without any idea HOW to actually study.
It's time for EVERY teenager to have the chance to give their exam study and their incredible potential their very best shot. π―
You can purchase the ZEN Study Bundle of your teen's palette choice tomorrow from 12pm NZT.
Can't wait to share it with you π
