It has been an incredibly emotional day as we farewell our amazing Lynn, who is now embarking on the wonderful journey of retirement. After 27 years of dedicated service to Aro Arataki, she has been the heart and soul of our team, inspiring us all with her commitment, generosity, kindness, and support.

Her bright, sunny personality lights up every room, and we will miss her dearly. But we’re also incredibly excited for this new chapter in her life, as she enjoys precious time with her whānau.

Lynn, thank you for everything you have done for us! You’ve been more than a colleague, you’ve been a safe place, a source of comfort, and a true friend. Your big, warm, comforting hugs are truly the best, and we are so incredibly grateful for everything you've brought to our team. We wish you all the best in your retirement and the adventures ahead.

Arohanui from all of us at Aro!

Talofa lava, whānau,

As we wrapped up Samoan Language Week last week, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to our amazing Tausili and her whānau for leading the celebrations and sharing their rich cultural traditions through food, music, dance, costumes, and storytelling. We are truly fortunate to be in Tausili's presence, learning from her knowledge and helping create a vibrant cultural experience for our tamariki.

We are also proud to share that we have received our confirmed ERO report. This report is a reflection of the significant progress we’ve made in our knowledge and practice since the last review. I want to take this moment to especially acknowledge our wonderful team for their hard mahi and dedication to teaching and learning.

This is a significant achievement and one that is absolutely worth celebrating. I couldn’t be prouder of our wonderful team of teachers and leaders.

A copy of the report will be available on our website and will also be published on the ERO website next week.

The transformation of our project room into the Ray of Light Atelier, inspired by the Reggio Emilia Infant and Toddler Centres, creates a space full of playfulness and joy. Here, children and teachers engage in research and experimentation with light and materials, sparking wonder and curiosity. This environment encourages creativity, fosters deeper knowledge, and invites exploration through joyful, hands-on experiences.

What a wonderful afternoon spent with Santa and the talented face painters, bringing joy to the children at our fun-filled Christmas party. Bubbles were everywhere, adding to the magic of the day. The sun was shining, the treats were delicious, and the company was delightful. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Aro community for a year full of fun, growth, and learning. We are grateful for your trust in us with your precious little ones. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and looking forward to another amazing year together! 🎅✨️🎁

Tonight, we came together as a community for a heartwarming pizza night, where we had the privilege of hearing a powerful presentation on children's agency, led by one of our amazing parents who holds a PhD in Early Childhood Education. Afterward, we shared a light meal and enjoyed each others company, followed by a meaningful exploration of our "Ray of Light" atelier.

This special space has been inspired by our recent visit to the Reggio Emilia Infant and Toddler Centres and Preschools, where we witnessed the transformative power of learning through exploration. The atelier is designed to ignite curiosity, encourage creativity, and provide an environment for both children and adults to discover and grow through play. We are excited to watch this space evolve over time, as we see both children and adults dive into their own journeys of exploration, learning, and connection.

We were thrilled to have over 50 parents join us for the evening, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your support and participation. Your presence and engagement make events like this truly special, and we are so grateful for the shared commitment to fostering a nurturing and inspiring environment for our children.

A huge thank you also goes out to the incredible team at Aro Arataki, whose dedication and passion make every day a joy. Your hard work and care create a warm, inspiring environment where both children and families thrive. We're so grateful for who you are and all that do!

Māku e kii atu, he tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata. What is the most important thing in the world? Well, let me tell you, it is people, it is people, it is people.
