With Northcote Intermediate School as well as a number of other local schools closed for a Ministry of Education Teacher Only Day this Friday, 29th May, the fun is just getting started at Mi Casa!

If you need care for the day, or simply want your child to enjoy a fantastic "taster day" of fun, we have you covered. We will be running a full Day Programme packed with awesome activities to keep the kids entertained while the teachers take a break.

👩‍🍳 Baking: Delicious hands-on kitchen fun (and definitely some taste-testing!).

🏆 Epic Games: Active indoor/outdoor group challenges and team games.

🎬 Movies & More: Non-stop laughs, cozy downtime, and creative crafts with the crew.

Big News: We are officially Te Kāhui Kāhu Accredited! OSCAR subsidies are now available 🦅✨

We are starting the day with some incredibly exciting news! Late yesterday afternoon, we received our official Te Kāhui Kāhu Social Services Accreditation.

What does this mean for you?
This accreditation is a "warrant of fitness" that recognizes our commitment to safe, high-quality care. Most importantly, it means we are now an approved provider for Work and Income (WINZ).

If you are a working parent, a student, or meet the criteria, you may now be eligible to receive OSCAR subsidies to help cover the costs of our programmes (up to 20 hours per week during term time and 50 hours during school holidays!).

We are thrilled to be able to make our services more accessible and affordable for our community.

It’s Week 4 of the school term, and things are getting explosive at Mi Casa! This week, our young scientists are diving into a world of reactions and rewards.

Here’s what’s on the menu for our little explorers:
🍋 Lemon Volcanos – Squeezing out some colorful, fizzy chemistry!
噴 Coke & Mentos Explosions – Taking the mess outdoors for the ultimate blast.
🥚 The Great Float – Testing density with eggs and comparing Diet vs. Regular Coke.
🎂 Baking & Treats – After all that hard work, we’re rewarding ourselves with cake, fruit, and snacks!

It’s going to be a week full of "Oohs," "Aahs," and maybe a little bit of sticky Diet Coke. We can’t wait to see those scientist goggles in action! 🥽💥

Get ready to channel your inner engineer these July holidays! We are heading to Robot Rampage, where you’ll get the chance to design, build, and then battle your very own robot against other builders. 🛠️💥

🚀 What a week of building and breakthroughs at Mi Casa! 🚀

Our out-of-school care has been transformed into a full-blown engineering lab this week. We’ve been focusing on creativity and construction, and the energy has been incredible!

Here’s a look at what our mini-makers have been up to:

🏎️ Bottle & Cardboard Cars: Learning about axles, wheels, and what makes a vehicle move.

🎯 Popsicle Stick Catapults: Exploring tension and aim (with plenty of flying pom-poms!).

⛵ Bottle Boats: Testing out buoyancy and seeing what it takes to stay afloat.

The best part? The "Aha!" moments. We’ve had a blast experimenting, failing, tweaking, and finally figuring out the best ways to get our creations to actually work!
