Kia ora whānau!
Today is Te Rā o Ngā Tamariki!
Let's celebrate our precious tamariki!
Just like aihe (dolphins), our children thrive when they have the freedom to explore, connect, and express themselves!
So, let's dive into the joy of childhood today!
Get out into your community and create some unforgettable memories with your tamaiti:
Run through the waves at the beach
Climb high at the park
Share laughter and stories together
Whatever you choose, make today a day to cherish and celebrate our tamariki!

What a busy and fun week we've had!
Our focus this week has been on developing social and emotional competence, and our tamariki have thrived!
They've enjoyed:
Group activities that promoted teamwork and friendship
Messy play that sparked imagination and creativity
Teacher-directed activities that explored maths concepts, such as:
Size and shapes
Patterns and sequencing
Heights and measurements
Plus, we've had plenty of opportunities for oral language development!
It's been amazing to see our tamariki grow and learn together!

Kia ora whānau!
Today, as part of our curriculum, we focused on teaching our tamariki about earthquake safety!
We showed them a video on the "Drop, Cover, Hold" earthquake drill, specifically highlighting the "Turtle Merge" safety position.
Following the video, we conducted a practice drill. We're proud to say that all our tamariki participated, although one of our little ones did get a bit scared.
Don't worry, we're here to support them! We'll be practicing these drills regularly to help our tamariki feel more confident and prepared.
We encourage all our whānau to practice these drills with your tamariki at home too!
Let's work together to keep our tamariki safe!

At Playway, we believe learning should be FUN!
This week was packed with creative learning, pretend play, building relationships, and looking after each other!
Our amazing Kaiako planned engaging activities focusing on oral language and maths learning!
BUT the highlight of our week was meeting Emmy, Kaiako Paarvi's stunning parrot!
Our tamariki were THRILLED to learn about responsible pet care and even got to pat Emmy!
Huge thanks to Paarvi for sharing Emmy with us!
Learning from pets is a priceless experience, teaching empathy, responsibility, and compassion - all aligned with our Te Whāriki values!

What a wonderful way to celebrate Samoan Language Week!
It's fantastic to see our whānau (family) sharing their cultural heritage with our tamariki. Food and dance are such important parts of Samoan culture, and it's beautiful to see them being shared with the next generation.
Fa'afetai (thank you) to all the teaching team, Saga and Debbora for
sharing traditional Samoan dishes.Teaching the tamariki (children) traditional Samoan dances, such as the siva and the hula. Passing on the Samoan language and cultural traditions to the next generation. celebration is a wonderful way to honor Samoan Language Week and to keep the culture alive.
