🎨 Intentional Teaching in Action 🌈

👀 Teachers noticed the children’s strong interest in colours and colour mixing, and intentionally planned experiences to extend this interest.

🎨 Day 1: Children explored colour mixing while developing their fine motor skills, creativity and confidence through painting.

🌈 Day 2: Instead of simply putting the paintings away, teachers re-purposed the children’s artwork and transformed it into beautiful paper fans. 🪭✨

💡 This created a meaningful learning journey — observing children’s interests, responding intentionally, and extending their learning through creative possibilities.

Most importantly, the children were incredibly proud and excited to see what their own artwork could become! ❤️

🌿 Intentional Teaching Through Children’s Interests 🌿

Our teachers observe children’s interests and use these observations to intentionally extend their learning. 👀✨

By turning their interest in rocks, nature and creative exploration into a hands-on activity, teachers create meaningful opportunities for children to explore, problem-solve, communicate and express their ideas. 🪨🌱🎨

This is intentional teaching in action — following children’s interests while thoughtfully extending their learning. ❤️

Yesterday we celebrated Alex’s birthday and graduation at Little Wonders. 🎂🎓💛

We all know how unique and special Alex is, and how much she has meant to our Little Wonders family. She has brought so much joy, learning and love into our centre, and we are truly going to miss her.

Her Mum just shared a beautiful Google review about their journey with us. We are so grateful for her honest words, her trust, and for giving our team the opportunity to be part of Alex’s learning journey — including the positive moments, the challenges, and everything in between.

It also reminds us how lucky we are to have so many wonderful families who trust us with such an important part of their children’s lives.

To all our Little Wonders whānau — thank you for your trust, your feedback and for allowing us to grow and learn alongside your children. ❤️

We will miss you, Alex, and we wish you all the very best for your next adventure! 🌈✨

Friday is always extra special, last friday was Hat Day with creative Hand Paiting, encouraging self-expression. Throughout the week, children also explored Hula Hoop Decoration Activities. strengthening fine motor skills, patience, and creativity. We also engaged in Colour Mixing Exploration, where children discovered early science concepts while working together, supporting collaboration and group learning.

Good weather truly brings out the best in learning.

We have had a wonderful week full of meaningful experiences! Our tamariki enjoyed our Wheels Day, building confidence and coordination, along with our regular Nature Walk Excursions to the local park, connecting with our community and environment.

Bike & Scooter Fun – This Friday! 🚲🛴

With the beautiful weather, we’d love to make the most of it! This Friday, children are welcome to bring their bike or scooter from home for a fun ride in our private parking area opposite the centre.

For safety, please ensure your child brings:

* A helmet
* Knee protectors (if available)

We will remove all cars from the area and only use the flat, open space under close teacher supervision.

As this activity takes place in our own private parking area, no additional permission form is required. If you would prefer your child not to participate, that’s absolutely fine - they will enjoy activities at the centre instead.

Once you arrive in the morning, please leave your child’s bike or scooter in the garden area, which can be accessed through the gate. Please ensure the gate is closed securely each time you enter or leave. Thank you for helping us keep all of our children safe!

We can’t wait for a fun and active morning together!
