🌟 Week 8 – Term 1 Update @ Ranui Christian Preschool 🌟

What an exciting and joyful week we had at preschool! Our tamariki were busy learning, celebrating, and enjoying special moments together. 💛✨

👑 Bible Hero – Queen Esther
We continued learning about Queen Esther, reflecting on her courage and how she trusted God to help her stand up for others.

🚦 Red Light, Green Light
Tamariki had lots of fun playing Red Light, Green Light, practising listening skills, movement, and self-control while enjoying an energetic game together.

🏃‍♀️ RUN4BIBLES Fundraiser
On Wednesday we had our RUN4BIBLES fundraiser, and our tamariki did such an amazing job! Thank you to all our whānau for your wonderful support and encouragement — it means so much to our preschool community and to the children in Africa who will be receiving the Bibles.

🌍 Culture Day Celebration
On Thursday we celebrated our beautiful Culture Day. We invited our whānau to join us as we celebrated the many cultures within our preschool through food, fellowship, and activities. Tamariki and families enjoyed trying activities such as weaving and soap carving, and we even had a tug of war which everyone really enjoyed. It was a special day filled with connection and celebration.

🎂 Birthday Celebration
We also celebrated a friend’s birthday, sharing smiles, singing, and special moments together.

🧼 Creative Exploration
Tamariki continued soap carving, made slime, and had lots of fun making beautiful noise with music and playful exploration.

🏗️ Building & Construction
Our builders were very busy creating really tall trees and buildings with wooden blocks, showing creativity, teamwork, and perseverance.

🌟 Week 7 – Term 1 Update @ Ranui Christian Preschool 🌟

What a wonderful and engaging week we’ve had together! Our tamariki continue to grow in confidence, creativity, and faith as we learn and explore side by side. 💛✨

👑 Bible Hero – Queen Esther
This week we continued learning about Queen Esther, discovering her bravery and how God used her for a special purpose. We talked about being courageous and trusting God in all situations. We also spent time praying together as a group.

📚 Special Visit from Librarian Debora
We had an exciting visit from Librarian Debora, who shared the story of the animals of Chinese New Year, including fun songs in between. Tamariki were engaged and loved participating in the storytelling experience.

🔤 Letter Focus – “A”
We practised the letter A, strengthening letter recognition and early literacy skills. We also enjoyed playing our matching card game, building memory skills and perseverance.

👐 Tactile Science Exploration – Oobleck!
We explored with cornstarch, later adding water to create oobleck — something that is not quite a liquid and not quite a solid! Tamariki were fascinated by how it changed when squeezed or poured. We extended the exploration by adding chia seeds and later colour, making the experience even more exciting.

🏗️ Super Long Towers!
We had so much fun building super long towers, carefully stacking and balancing blocks higher and higher. Tamariki worked together, problem-solved, and showed great perseverance when towers tumbled down.

🎨 Fine Motor Fun – Colourful Coat
Inspired by our previous learning of the Bible Hero Joseph, we made a colourful coat using stickers, working carefully to strengthen fine motor skills and creativity.

🌟 Week 6 – Term 1 Update @ Ranui Christian Preschool 🌟

What a wonderful and active week we’ve had! Our tamariki continued growing in confidence, listening skills, and perseverance through a variety of fun and meaningful experiences. 💛✨

📖 Bible Hero – Samuel
We continued learning about Samuel, with a strong focus on practising our listening skills — just as Samuel listened carefully when God called him.

🫧 Bubble Fun
We had so much fun outside trying to catch bubbles, running, jumping, and laughing together.

🏃‍♂️ Movement & Balance
Tamariki enjoyed exercising outside, balancing on the balance beam and exploring with the resistance band, strengthening coordination and gross motor skills.

✋ Playdough with Visual Cue Cards
Using visual aid cue cards, we explored playdough in different ways — squeezing, poking, rolling, and shaping. This supported fine motor development and following instructions.

🃏 Matching Card Game
We had fun playing a matching card game, finding pairs among many cards. This activity strengthened memory skills and taught perseverance — keeping on going even when we didn’t get a match right away.

🧱 Marble Tower Exploration
Tamariki explored building marble towers, experimenting with design, balance, and problem-solving.

🏃‍♀️ RUN4BIBLES practice
BibleLeague Fundraiser is to buy Bibles for children in other countries.
Most exciting of all, we practiced for our upcoming Bible Run!

🌟 Week 5 – Term 1 Update @ Ranui Christian Preschool 🌟

🥞 Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day)
On Tuesday we celebrated Shrove Tuesday and enjoyed some lovely pancakes together. Tamariki were very excited and thankful for this special treat.

📖 Bible Hero – Samuel
Our Bible Hero for the week was Samuel. We learned how Samuel listened to God’s voice. Tamariki made craft ears with our Bible verse in the middle to help us remember the message:

🧱 Building & Construction
We spent time building with LEGO, creating different structures and using our imagination and problem-solving skills.

🔤 Name Practice
We practised recognising and building our names using velcro letters, strengthening early literacy and confidence.

🪲 Nature Discovery
We discovered and safely observed a praying mantis, which created lots of excitement and curiosity about God’s creation.

🥁 Music & Rhythm
Tamariki had fun with percussion sticks, exploring rhythm, sound, and group music-making.

🫧 Sensory Play Fun
We enjoyed bubble play and slime exploration, strengthening fine motor skills and sensory awareness through hands-on fun.

💛 Joyful Learning
It was a week filled with laughter, exploration, and meaningful learning moments together.

🌟 Week 4 – Term 1 Update @ Ranui Christian Preschool 🌟

We had so much fun this week! Our days were full of learning, movement, creativity, and meaningful moments together. 💛✨

📖 Bible Hero Focus – Samson
We continued learning about Samson, discovering how God gave him strength and how God has a purpose for each of us.

🏗️ Building & Construction Play
Tamariki worked together to build a car garage with blocks and carefully parked all the cars. This supported teamwork, planning, and problem-solving skills and encouraged communication.

🎳 Games & Movement
We enjoyed ten-pin bowling and exercise activities that helped develop coordination, focus, balance, and confidence.

🫧 Bubble Science & Art
We blew bubbles and caught them on paper, creating beautiful bubble prints while exploring cause and effect.

🎵 We Formed a Band!
Tamariki formed a band and made music together, playing instruments, keeping rhythm, and expressing themselves through sound and movement. Music is a nice way for tamariki to express themselves in a creative manner.

🎂 Birthday Celebration
We celebrated Aunty Chevone’s birthday, sharing joy, singing, and special moments together.

🌧️ Rainy Day Learning
On a rainy day, Aunty Fe guided the children on the mat to design and build different structures that is familiar to them, encouraging imagination and discussion.

🤝 Treaty & Cultural Learning
Aunty Fe explained the Ranui Christian Preschool Treaty and taught us about the korowai and why it is special and meaningful. We discussed the feathers and it significant meaning to the Māori people. We sang the waiata together and practiced Karakia mo te kai. In the spirit of Waitangi Day, we signed our preschool treaty together. Aunty Mu also gave everyone a tipare (headband) with the meaning to gift something meaningful to someone — thank you, Aunty Mu!

🔤 Name Building
We practised building our names, strengthening letter recognition and early literacy skills.

🧪 Science Exploration – Amazing Ants
In the Amazing Ants class, tamariki enjoyed a science experiment — pouring vinegar into baking soda and watching it bubble and overflow like an eruption. There were lots of excited reactions!

🌟 Week 10 @ Ranui Christian Preschool 🌟

Week 10 was filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful learning as we enjoyed our final week of Term 4 together. What a special way to end the term! 💛✨

🏖️ Sandpit Exploration
Tamariki enjoyed exploring in the sandpit, working together to scoop and help put sand into bags. This supported teamwork, strength, and coordination while having lots of fun.

💦 Water Play Experiments
We experimented with water play, pouring, transferring, and exploring cause and effect through hands-on discovery.

🍽️ Imaginative Play
Our imaginations were busy as we played with playdough and kitchen toys, creating stories, meals, and shared play experiences.

🌳 Outdoor Fun
The tyre swing continues to be a favourite, bringing big smiles and lots of excitement. We also enjoyed building with wooden blocks outside, working together to create strong and tall structures.

🎄 Christmas Celebration
A very special highlight of the week was our Christmas celebration:
✨ “Joy to the World, Our Saviour Is Born” ✨
It was a beautiful time of celebration, reflection, and sharing the joy of Jesus’ birth with our preschool whānau.

🍪 Baking with Aunty Shar
We made delicious shortbread biscuits with Aunty Shar, practising measuring, mixing, and waiting patiently — and of course enjoying the yummy result!

🪥 Daily Routines
As part of our everyday learning, tamariki continued their routine of brushing their teeth, supporting independence and healthy habits.

💛 So Much Fun and Laughter
This week was filled with smiles, joy, and special moments shared together.

🌟 Week 7 at Ranui Christian Preschool 🌟

What an exciting, messy, creative, and joy-filled week we’ve had! Our tamariki were busy exploring, discovering, and having fun through a wide range of hands-on learning experiences. 💛✨

🎨 Messy Play Fun
Messy play was a big favourite this week! Tamariki enjoyed getting their hands busy, exploring textures, colours, and creativity through sensory play.

🌳 Tree Swing Adventures
Our tree swing brought endless smiles as tamariki took turns, built confidence, and practiced balance and coordination in the fresh air.

💜 Purple Bubbly Water Exploration
We explored with purple bubbly water—scooping, pouring, transferring, and experimenting with containers. This activity supported problem-solving, early science learning, and fine motor development.

📖 Bible Story – The Shepherds and the Angel
During mat time, we revisited the beautiful story of the shepherds and the angel announcing the birth of Jesus. Tamariki reflected on the joy, surprise, and good news shared that night, helping us connect to the meaning of Christmas.

🪨 Rock Washing
We washed rocks using brushes and water, strengthening our fine motor skills while enjoying calming, purposeful play.

🏗️ Creative Tower Building
Using objects you wouldn’t normally build with, tamariki challenged their thinking and creativity by constructing unique towers. A fun way to learn about balance, problem-solving, and perseverance!

🎄 Christmas Decorations
With Christmas coming closer, we began making some beautiful Christmas decorations. Lots of sparkle, creativity, and imagination filled our classroom!

🌈 Week 5 of Term 4 at Ranui Christian Preschool 🌈

The sun is out, the weather feels like summer, and our tamariki have been soaking up every bit of it! ☀️💛

What a fun and busy week we had together, filled with celebration, creativity, and hands-on learning!

🎓 We started the week with a very special graduation on Monday — celebrating our amazing tamariki as they continue their learning journey. What a proud and joy-filled moment for everyone!

💦 We explored with water, food colouring, and glitter, watching how colours mix and sparkle — a wonderful sensory experience that captured everyone’s curiosity.
🦋 We made beautiful collages using our Butterfly Creek trip pictures, remembering all the exciting moments from our special day out.
📦 Outdoors, we had boxes that became tunnels, sparking imaginative play and teamwork.
💧 During water play, we added soap and colour to make bubbles and fun mixtures — and even used the opportunity to wash all our chairs together under the warm sun!

🎨 We painted with both paint and water, exploring textures, colours, and creativity.
🎂 We also celebrated a birthday, sharing smiles, songs, and joy with our preschool whānau.
🌟 Tamariki enjoyed pasting stickers in patterns, building structures, and placing buttons on twirls — all wonderful ways to strengthen fine motor skills and encourage focus and patience.

It’s been a beautiful, sunny week of learning, laughter, and love. We are so proud of our tamariki and grateful for every moment spent growing together in God’s care. 🌼💕

🌿 Week 4 of Term 4 at Ranui Christian Preschool 🌿

What a wonderful week of learning, exploring, and growing together it has been! 💛

Our tamariki enjoyed a week full of discovery and hands-on fun:
👃 We explored our sense of smell, discovering how amazing God made our bodies to experience the world around us.
🐠 We created patterns using plastic fish, practicing counting, matching, and pattern recognition.
🔤 We went on a nature adventure to find the letter L in nature — such clever and curious learners!
🧱 We built beautiful stables, just like the ones where baby Jesus was born, connecting our creativity to our Bible learning.
🎨 We explored how playdough can be manipulated, strengthening fine motor skills and imagination.
🪱 We went on a big treasure hunt, searching for worms and other insects, and learning about God’s amazing creations up close!
🔺 We practiced listening skills by standing on the shape that was called out, a fun way to learn about shapes and following directions.
✏️ We even drew our weekend news, sharing stories and building our confidence in early writing and communication.
