Absolutely loving supporting so many amazing families! Consistent, quality sleep at night is just life changing š„°š„°š„°
This outstanding review really needs no further words from us...
"Megan has been unbelievable! She has gone above and beyond to support us in completely turning our sleep troubles around. We feel so blessed to have worked with her and are ecstatic with the results. My partner was unsure about using a sleep consultant and after this experience said it's the best money we've spent and he could not recommend Megan more highly to others.
I had read many other reviews and just didn't believe we could have such a major improvement but the results speak for themselves. We came to Megan with a 4.5 month old who was very difficult to get to sleep, catnapping, at bedtime it was taking up to 2 hours to get her settled and the night time wakes had become as frequent as every 15/30/60 minutes with a 2 hour stretch being hard to come by. We found ourselves dreading each nap and bedtime in particular as it was such a battle. We had run out of ideas so booked in the 2 week phone consultations with Megan, she came up with a plan we were all happy with and things began to change right from day 1.
Fast forward and after 2 weeks working together our bub can now settle herself to sleep for naps/bedtime which she does in her cot, her naps have really improved - managing a 2 hour sleep at lunchtime and she is having some amazing stretches of sleep through the night. The changes are better than we had ever expected. We are so happy to see her getting such great sleep which of course is good for mum and dad too. If you are on the fence I'd recommend having a free consult and chatting with them first.
From the moment I spoke to Megan I knew we were in good hands. I could tell she genuinely loves her job and she enjoyed the wins as much as we did. Sleep will never be perfect but we feel so much better equipped to deal with the hurdles and it's very reassuring to know Megan is only a phone call away shall we need some support again." - Kayla

E N D O F D A Y L I G H T S A V I N G S:
It's that time of year again and I am definitely feeling the change of season coming as the temperature has dropped and the evenings are getting darker! Clocks go back in a weeks time and if your day usually starts at 6am, that's about to become 5am!
Light, food and social interaction can help our little ones adjust so if you are following a feed and nap routine, you can start by pushing it back 15 minutes on Monday... then a further 15 minutes on Wednesday... and again on Friday. If you have older ones using a toddler clock, you can follow the same approach and adjust it by 15 minutes every couple of days.
An alternative is shifting your day after the clocks change if it works better for your family!

Dummies can be a polarising topic but there are definitely pros and cons! For newborns, they can be a life saver as it is well known how calming that sucking reflex can be! In fact, there is even a link between dummy use and a reduced risk of SIDS. As far as a sleep association, they can be a lifesaver and the motley crew pictured here have been with Ruby and Joe for every nap and bedtime since they were around 6 months old!
There is a tricky stage where they can cause more trouble than theyāre worth and thatās if youāre doing multiple dummy runs a night to pop them back in. If this is the case, weighing up your options is a great idea⦠can you deal with the dummy runs till your little one is able to find and replace it themselves (around 7-8 months old) or do you go cold Turkey and break the habit? Would love to know what you think! š„°
Comforters from www.sleepytot.co.nz, www.bearandmoo.co.nz and a random gift shop somewhere in a small village in the UK! One hot tip is to make sure you have two the same that you can interchange so they get nice and āwell lovedā at the same time!

H O L I D A Y S - Itās fair to say we didnāt do much with our twinnies in the first 12 months (apart from fly from London to Auckland when they were 10 weeks old šš¤£) because holidays seemed in the too hard basket! In the last 6 months weāve travelled around the world and back, survived staying with friends and family, new places and 14 days in MIQ and having a few tricks up our sleeves has helped make it relatively drama free and make us wonder what we were so worried about! We always travel with our blackout blinds, sleeping bags, white noise machine and trusty comforters and - most of the time - they settle off to sleep like they do at home! So well in fact that we had wake them both up from their nap today so they didnāt miss a fun afternoon on the beach!
Ps - these blackout blinds are fab - we use them at home and they have suction cups that make it so easy to put up wherever you are!

How is it already the 6th of January? We had a fantastic break and our little ones are loving getting outside every day and playing with the new mud kitchen that their grandad made them for Christmas!
FUN FACT: Did you know that exposure to sunlight helps with serotonin production. Serotonin converts to melatonin which is that lovely sleep hormone that helps promote quality rest! Getting outside in the evening light between dinner and bedtime can really help your little one have a good nights sleep!
I was so lucky to work with some really amazing volunteer clients in November and December - what a privilege to be able to offer personalised support and encouragement to such lovely families!
I'm looking for my next group of volunteer clients to help me complete my training - all advice and guidance will be thoroughly checked by my mentor so you will be receiving expert advice... for FREE!
I have space for a few more families in January so if you or anyone you know would like some help to get their little ones sleep back on track, please get in touch!

Back into it after a short break in my training due to our recent trip overseas to see Alex's family. Our twinnies blew us away with how well they handled everything - jet lag, new spaces and faces, sleeping in a number of different places. The positive sleep associations that we have worked hard to put in place were a godsend! Everywhere we went, we popped up our travel blackout blinds, turned on the white noise, put them in their sleeping bags with their comforters and they went off to sleep just like they do at home... I think they coped with the change in environment better than we did! (The 14 days in MIQ when we returned to NZ were a slightly bigger challenge but they coped admirably with that as well!)
I am back into working with my final volunteer clients with the aim of finishing my study and becoming certified in the new year. I will have space to take on a couple more in the 6-12 month age bracket and 12 months plus so if you know of anyone with a little one who might need some help to get their sleep on track, feel free to direct them here! Our training helps us to offer a variety of approaches to suit different family dynamics and parenting styles and all advice and support I would give would be approved by my mentor who is an experienced sleep consultant. I am really looking forward to helping more families in the coming weeks!

Welcome to my page! As a mum of insanely busy toddler twins, Joe and Ruby, I know how much they (and I!) need a good nights sleep. I'm currently studying to be a Certified Infant and Child Sleep Consultant and am looking forward to completing my training and being able to offer support to parents and carers of infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers.
Over the next few months, I will need to work with a large number of volunteer clients to gain the experience required to become certified. All of my assessments, advice and guidance to volunteers will be approved by my mentor who is an experienced senior sleep consultant. Therefore... any volunteer clients will be given two weeks of top quality consultation and support, free of charge!
If you know of anyone who is interested in improving their child's sleep habits, please get in touch!
Thanks in advance!
Megan
