During our recent holiday programme we had a fun day exploring Rangitoto!
We sailed across the harbour teaching our sailors about sailing on larger boats, to arrive at Islington Bay where anchoring procedures and dinghies were the topic of discussion. After rowing ashore we then had a great time exploring Rangitoto - looking at pest control measures, historic baches, and the volcanic terrain.
Wonderful way to spend a day when opti sailing in our bay was not possible.

The holiday programme has taken a different form this week, with the current water quality issues preventing sailing in St Mary’s Bay.
On Monday we had an excursion to the Maritime Museum where the sailors enjoyed learning more about the history of sailing in NZ, and had particular fun with the interactive sailing games. Tuesday we learnt about the marine environment, and finished it off with a trip to the North Shore to go fishing.
Looking forward to what the rest of the week brings!
