This month, our tamariki have been exploring the world through maps, continents, oceans and cultures. 🗺️✨
Together, we created a colourful world map and explored different continents, oceans and flags from the countries our children and families call home. 🇳🇿🇮🇳🇦🇺🇫🇯🇼🇸🇨🇳🇵🇭🇵🇰🇧🇩🌏

It was wonderful to see the children recognise their own cultures, share their knowledge and celebrate the diversity around them. ❤️

💛 Happy Friendship Day! 💛

Today, our tamariki celebrated Friendship Day with lots of smiles, laughter, and kindness! 🌼

We started by singing "You're My Sunshine" together before the children proudly exchanged their handmade friendship bracelets with their best friends. Some also created beautiful drawings as thoughtful gifts. 🎨💕

Through singing, dancing, and sharing, the children celebrated the importance of friendship, kindness, and caring for one another. It was wonderful to see them express gratitude, strengthen their friendships, and create joyful memories together.

We celebrated a very special milestone as Nevahn turned 5 and graduated from Little Buddies! 🎉🎂🎓

Nevahn has been part of our Little Buddies family since he was 2½ years old, and it has been a privilege to watch him grow into a kind, confident, and thoughtful young learner. He has been a wonderful role model, always encouraging his younger friends to use kind words like "please" and "thank you."

We celebrated by singing his favourite song, "You're My Sunshine," and counting the five candles on his birthday cake together. Surrounded by his friends, teachers, and whānau, it was a joyful celebration of his birthday and graduation.

Congratulations, Nevahn! We are so proud of you and wish you all the very best as you begin your primary school journey. 🌟💙

🌏✨ Celebrating Cultural Day at our Centre! ✨🌏

Yesterday, our children and whānau came together to celebrate the beautiful cultures that make our centre community unique. The children proudly wore their traditional clothing, shared greetings in their home languages, and enjoyed singing and dancing together.

It was a wonderful day filled with connection, respect, and joy as we learned from one another and celebrated our diverse identities. 💛

✨ Pyjamas Day Fun at Our Centre! ✨

Last Friday, we celebrated Pyjamas Day with lots of smiles, laughter, and excitement! Our children came dressed in their favourite pyjamas and enjoyed sharing their designs, colours, and characters with their friends.

The day was filled with fun activities including a team tug-of-war game, where children practised teamwork and cooperation, and an outdoor treasure hunt that encouraged exploration, problem-solving, and persistence.

We finished the celebration with a cosy movie time and snacks together. It was a wonderful day full of friendships, connection, and happy memories! 💛

🌺 Celebrating Samoan Language Week 🌺

We were delighted to welcome one of our parents and a family member to our centre as part of our Samoan Language Week celebrations. Dressed in beautiful traditional Samoan attire, they shared a wonderful cultural performance that brought joy and excitement to our day.

Children and teachers were invited to join in the dancing, creating a fun and engaging experience for everyone. We also learned the Samoan greeting “Talofa Lava” and enjoyed practicing it together throughout the day.

This meaningful experience gave children the opportunity to learn about Samoan language and culture in a hands-on way while strengthening connections between our centre and whānau. It was wonderful to see children showing curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm as they explored and celebrated another culture.

A heartfelt thank you to the whānau who generously shared their time, knowledge, and culture with us. ❤️

Last Friday, we celebrated King’s Birthday with a fun and meaningful experience 👑

Our tamariki created and decorated their own crowns using colourful materials, expressing their creativity and individuality. They proudly wore their crowns as we gathered together to sing the New Zealand national anthem, building a strong sense of belonging and community.

Moments like these help children connect with important cultural celebrations while growing in confidence and self-expression ❤️
