Our awesome Kaitoke School Tōtara class is officially on tour and on their way to camp at Tongariro National Park!
They’ve already had an epic start to the trip, stopping for two fantastic games of rippa today against Southwell School and Te Awamutu Intermediate. What an awesome way to kick off camp! 🏉
A huge thank you to both schools for hosting our team and giving our tamariki such a great experience.
This camp is such an incredible opportunity, made possible through the amazing fundraising efforts, generosity and support of our wonderful community. We are so grateful.
Safe travels team — we are so proud of you already and can’t wait to follow your journey! ❤️🌿

100km of ocean. One small school. One very big dream.
As many of you know, this year Kaitoke School is sending its very first team to the AIMS Games.
Our students have worked incredibly hard to get this far. They've opened and run A Brewed Awakening, sold raffle tickets, baked, fundraised and put their hearts into making this dream a reality.
We've been overwhelmed by the support from our island community, but the reality is that getting a team from Aotea to Tauranga comes with some significant costs, and we still have a long way to go.
If you'd like to support our tamariki, we've launched a Givealittle page. Every donation, no matter the size, will help our students represent our island with pride.
Thank you for believing in our kids and helping show them that big dreams can come from small places.

☕️ A Brewed Awakening Update ☕️
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported our little student-run café this term. We love seeing our community come together over a coffee, hot chocolate, smoothie or scone while supporting our tamariki.
To help make the café sustainable, A Brewed Awakening will be open on Thursdays only for the remainder of Term 2.
We'll still be serving all your favourites from 8.00am–9.00am every Thursday morning at Kaitoke School.
And there's more!
During Rippa training on Saturdays, we'll also be firing up the BBQ with a sausage sizzle, along with barista coffee, hot chocolates and Juicies available for purchase. It's a great chance to grab a bite to eat, support our students and cheer on our young athletes.
Thank you again for your support. Every coffee, sausage and smoothie helps create amazing learning opportunities for our students and supports their off-island adventures.
See you Thursday — and on the sidelines Saturday! ☕🌭🏉❤️
💕Last week, our school proudly hosted the Pink Ribbon Breakfast at our cafe - Brewed Awakening 💗
Thanks to the incredible support from our community, the event was a huge success! From delicious food and coffee to meaningful conversations and fundraising, it was amazing to see everyone come together for such an important cause.
A massive thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make the morning so special.

👟 MYSTERY MINI NIKES 👟
We have discovered a tiny pair of very cool Nike trainers at Kaitoke School after the weekend.
They are extremely cute. Extremely small.
Possibly left behind after rippa training?
If your child has suddenly gone home barefoot, hopping, or claiming they “definitely wore gumboots,” these may belong to you.
