Last week, Team Matau headed out to Long Bay Regional Park for the Spongy Cities programme. Our students learned how planting helps manage heavy rain in the city, getting their hands in the dirt and their feet in the sand for a brilliant day of outdoor learning. Check out some of the action!

A massive thank you to the incredible Selina Tusitala Marsh for visiting our Chefs for Compassion students last week!
She spoke about the amazing messages in her book Mophead Tu, and our students were even lucky enough to take home their very own copies.
We are so grateful for such a special conclusion to our sessions.

We had a fantastic start to our Zero Waste sessions this week with the team from Kaipātiki Project!
Our students dove into exploring soil samples - looking at what made healthy soil and linking it to the carbon cycle, discovering how everything in nature is connected. It was a perfect way to strengthen our understanding of our Term 2 context Kaitiakitanga - learning how we can better care for our environment and protect our natural world for the future.
This is just the beginning! We can’t wait to take this learning out of the classroom and continue exploring our context with some exciting school trips coming up later this term.
