Managing Christmas Time: 
Here are some coping strategies that you might find helpful: Christmas is a time to relax and be with family and/or friends, so enjoy this time and remember to be grateful for what you do have.

Time for Yourself:
For some people, Christmas can be very overwhelming especially with the pressure of the challenging year you might have just had. Only seeing those in seeing and spending time with family or friends could become overwhelming for some. Make sure to take time for yourself and if you need a minute. If it all gets too much, find a space to just breathe and take a break from the festivities.

No Expectations:
Approach Christmas with no expectations, that way anything that happens will be a surprise and be welcomed with gratefulness.

Limit Any Negativity:
Limit your time with people that can be negative, you can listen to how things have been for them, however, don't take on their issues. Use the excuse that you need to catch up with others and politely move away if you want to. And if anything is said that you don't like, don't take it to heart.

Dealing with Conflict:
If any conflict does arise with you or anyone else, try to either walk away to diffuse the situation or keep as calm as you can, be the peacemaker, and say "can we talk about this another time as it's Christmas?"

Practice Kindness:
Bear in mind that everyone (adults, teens, and kids) have been through their own challenges this year. Be kind, thoughtful, and helpful and you'll be appreciated for it. Be mindful that some people don't have a lot so help out those in your community who might need it. Everyone is entitled to a lovely Christmas!

Enjoy the Break:
Wherever you are, having a staycation or going away, enjoy your time as much as you can, get out in nature, explore new places and enjoy a lovely summer break. Refresh and recharge for 2026.
