In what way kids can make a difference to our community and the entire city? The answers could be HUNDREDS, even in this special and challenging time!❤️❤️

As COVID starts to take hold in NZ, we might need some new ways to connect with each other, show our love and care to friends, neighbors, and even strangers in need. RootsCulture collaborates with Hobsonville Community Trust is now launching an online art activity. It is a community level that is open to every kid in the area!

The panorama of rivers and mountains as shown in the first picture is a milestone piece painted by artist Wang Ximeng during the Song destiny (960- 1279) at the age of 18. The whole painting is 12 meters long. The color of the mountain is called 青绿(qing lv) in Chinese.

In Chinese culture, thousands of miles of mountains and rivers also represent thousands of caring and connections between people. Inspired by this, we kindly invite families in Hobsonville to join us in co-creating our own.

We will send some raw materials to participating families. You can use these materials to identify the color 青绿 and find ways to extract through vegetables and fruit. This will be guided by the letter instruction and our teacher in the zoom, along with the 3 ways of applying the concept of distance in Chinese mountain painting.

Once finished, we will gather all the art pieces and make them into a big ONE. This amazing collaborative product will then be put up on the Hobsonville community wall to inspire people who visit here.

Our delivery also includes materials for personal drawing and handwork of 青绿 mountains and rivers. Children can make it into postcards sent to neighbors and distant friends, or the art products sold in our charity bazaar ( kid-hosted, dollars earned will donate to local kids and animal protection organizations).

The only thing you need to do is to read the instruction and join the online tutorial.

创始人的话:

2016年女儿出生，一个眼里带笑、小小软软的生命，让我有了自己实质意义上的第一个孩子。

2021年，第一本自我解构之书《活在标签之外》出版，自此在精神思考的领地我有了自己的第二个孩子。

2022年，RootsCulture创校。这一次，我的身后有了队伍，「我们要在新西兰和华人青少年一起，讲好关于自己的故事」。

每个人只能以自己的方式进入这个世界。19年带女儿重回奥克兰，我大抵知道在她以后的成长环境中最大的中文挑战是什么。那时列出的「要与不要」，也成为了拾墨的最初模型。"既然没有能用有效的中文环境，那就自己创造一个给她。"

有眼界识别自己于世界的独特价值、有方法和资源帮助落地、有强大内心应对路上的挑战，这些都是我希望薇儿身上具备的，而这三件事，首先要有一个底气，就是来自中国的视角。中国视角，不止是写字造词，还在于传承思考，创造新解。春晚舞台上的《只此青绿》，冬奥的24节气倒计时、搜集故宫颜色编著的《中国传统色》，都是这一延展和创造的具体体现。

所以，筹备一年，适合新西兰儿童的中文项目式学习，来了。

新西兰第一家将中文教育与项目式学习（Project based learning, PBL)融合起来的学校。项目设计黄金标准参考美国巴克学院；中文学术团涵盖师范大学35年+一线高级语文教师、中文整本书阅读专家；老师团涵盖500强项目经理、一线教师、多领域跨界青年。

教能用的中文。建立中文素养与真实世界的连接。具体做法: 以PBL为工具，通过与奥克兰主流社区合作，为1-8年级的孩子每年提供4个不同主题的中文项目的深度探究，并以公开展示的方式将原创型作品呈现给世界。帮助孩子在具体的场景中习得中文素养，建立与项目个人化的连接，培养中文学习的内驱力。

如果您是家长，Hobsonville校区正在招募“送你一首颜色诗（Year 3-4)”学员，如果您的孩子适龄且想作为创校学员参与其中，欢迎留言或网站报名。疫情当下，目前hobs线下校区只招募本区学员。更多校区的开放会在两年内陆续完成。

最后我想说，原来在500强企业就职，看到的世界纵然很大，但具体到人，能参与影响的部分却很有限。作为个体，我希望将价值用在更需要的地方。作为妈妈，我希望推动男女平等，以女性的身份创造更友好的社会，为年轻的她们开路。

这件事不易，特别是疫情数字持续暴涨的新西兰。不易，但也要开始。大环境缺位，至少让孩子身边的小环境，不缺席。
