Lemonade Day for Daffodil Day!

Our tamariki recently came together for a very special Lemonade Day fundraiser in support of Daffodil Day. What started with generous donations of lemons and oranges from our wonderful whānau and community turned into a rich and meaningful learning experience for our tamariki.

The children were actively involved in every step of the process. They helped to wash, squeeze and mix the fresh fruit, learning about where our ingredients come from, how food is prepared, and the importance of working together. There was lots of excitement as the tamariki watched their lemons and oranges transform into delicious, refreshing juice!

Our tamariki then proudly set up their lemonade stand and welcomed members of our community to purchase a drink and support this important cause. They had opportunities to practise communication, confidence, early maths and money skills, turn-taking, cooperation and problem-solving as they served our customers and worked together as a team.

Most importantly, this experience helped our children understand the value of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and giving back to others. They could see that even small acts of kindness can make a difference in our wider community.

A huge thank you to our amazing whānau for donating the lemons and oranges, supporting the children, and getting behind our fundraiser. Your involvement made this experience even more meaningful and strengthened the connection between our centre, our families and our community.

We are incredibly proud of our little fundraisers and the wonderful spirit of generosity they showed!

Today our ECE Centre turned into the ultimate Little Foot Spa!

The children were treated to a very special spa day, where tiny toes were soaked, pampered and given plenty of TLC. From relaxing foot soaks to gentle massages and lots of giggles, our little guests absolutely loved being spoiled!

There were happy faces, wriggly toes, plenty of laughter and some very serious relaxation happening!

The children embraced every moment of their special pamper session — chatting with their friends, enjoying the sensory experience and feeling extra special as they were cared for.

By the end, those little feet were feeling fresh, fabulous and completely foot-loose and fancy-free!

The children enjoyed a hands-on marmalade-making experience, beginning by collecting fresh oranges and exploring their colour, texture, smell and taste. Working together, they helped wash, cut and prepare the oranges before cooking the marmalade with guidance from teachers. Once ready, the children helped fill and decorate jars, creating their own labels and packaging. This experience supported learning through sensory exploration, early science and mathematical concepts, communication, collaboration, fine-motor skills, and developing confidence and independence. The children also learned about the process of food preparation, transformation through cooking, and taking pride in creating something to share with others.
