π Montessori Stamp Game: Subtraction in Action π
At just 4 years old, this young learner is confidently solving subtraction problems using the Montessori Stamp Game. What we see today is the result of many months of learning, from counting and working with sandpaper numbers to mastering addition and developing a strong understanding of quantity and number recognition.
As she writes numbers, solves problems, and works independently, she is building important life skills such as concentration, logical thinking, confidence, and perseverance. These foundations will support her future success in school, helping her approach new challenges with confidence and a love for learning.
Every small step is leading to something bigger, and we are so proud of her growth. πβ¨

πͺβ¨ Independence starts early at Dreamers! β¨
From our previous post, you saw how confidently a 3-year-old cleaned a mirror from start to finish. But did you know that the journey begins much earlier?
At just 18 months old, our youngest learners are already being introduced to caring for their environment. Here, a toddler carefully wipes the mirror, building concentration, coordination, and a sense of responsibility. π±
These small moments of meaningful work help lay the foundation for the independence we see as children grow. π

πͺβ¨ Focused from start to finish! β¨
Our 3-year-old tamariki carefully used a dropper to place water onto the mirror, cleaned it with cotton, and wiped it until it sparkled. π
This Practical Life activity strengthens fine motor skills, concentration, hand-eye coordination, and independence, important foundations for writing, following instructions, and completing tasks confidently in the future.
There is so much learning in the simplest moments. π

At Dreamers Nest, our learners under 2 years old love exploring through their senses. π𧀠During this outdoor activity, the children enjoyed reaching and touching hand gloves filled with coloured water, curiously exploring the different textures, movements, and colours around them. β¨π§
Sensory play helps children under two years old develop their curiosity, concentration, coordination, and early understanding of the world around them. Through simple hands-on experiences like this, children are encouraged to explore freely, build confidence, and learn through their natural sense of wonder. π±π

π± Jumping, balancing, and learning through movement π±
At Dreamers Nest Montessori, one of our tamariki is joyfully engaging in an outdoor practical life activity, carefully stepping across colourful platforms and confidently jumping from one to another β¨
This playful yet purposeful experience supports whole body development, helping to strengthen balance, coordination, concentration, and gross motor skills. With every jump and step, the child is building confidence, control, and independence πΏ
Our outdoor learning environment encourages tamariki to move freely, challenge themselves safely, and develop resilience through hands on exploration. These meaningful moments allow children to learn at their own pace while having fun and staying active π
At Dreamers Nest Montessori, we believe learning is best experienced through doing. Every jump, step, and attempt helps nurture confidence, focus, and a lifelong love for movement and discovery β€οΈ

Continuing from our previous post about our older children working together, here at Dreamers Nest, even our youngest learners are already building important social skills too. π±π In the babyβs room, children under two years old are learning how to share materials, take turns, and work alongside each other with gentle guidance from their teachers. π§Έβ¨
These simple everyday moments help children develop patience, kindness, respect, and confidence as they learn to be part of a community. In Montessori, children learn through real experiences and meaningful interactions with the people around them. β€οΈ

At Dreamers Nest, children learn not only from teachers, but also from each other. π±π¨ In this moment, an older child kindly showed his younger friend how to paint and worked alongside him with patience and care. π
In Montessori practice, older children become role models, building leadership, confidence, empathy, and responsibility while younger children learn through observation and connection. These are important life skills that help children grow into caring and capable individuals in the future. β¨
This moment also links to Te WhΔriki, as children are learning to help one another, work together, and build caring relationships within their environment. β€οΈ

π¦π± Pouring with purpose, learning for life π±π¦
At Dreamers Nest Montessori, even the simplest activities are designed with purpose, care, and meaningful learning in mind π
This is one of our outdoor activities where our young learner explored water pouring, strengthening concentration, fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, and independence π§β¨
This hands on experience encourages tamariki to develop patience, focus, confidence, and control of movement while practising essential everyday life skills in a calm and engaging environment. Through repetition, children build self trust, problem solving abilities, and a sense of achievement that supports their overall growth π±
Working outdoors allows tamariki to connect with nature, move freely, and engage all their senses πΏ
At Dreamers Nest Montessori, children learn best through doing. Every experience is intentionally prepared to encourage independence, build self esteem, and nurture a love for learning β€οΈ
Our outdoor environment becomes an extension of the classroom where curiosity grows, confidence blossoms, and tamariki are empowered to learn at their own pace π
πGive your child the opportunity to learn through meaningful experiences, hands on discovery, and the Montessori way every day.
