Our tamariki started the day by preparing a special morning tea and baking a cake just for Dad. ☕️🎂🥰

Learning Through Play! 🌟

Our tamariki enjoyed a fun, hands-on learning experience as they removed stickers featuring letters and numbers and matched them to the corresponding letters and numbers they had been learning throughout the week. 🧩✨

This engaging activity supported tamariki to strengthen their fine motor skills as they peeled and placed the stickers, while also developing their letter and number recognition. It was also a wonderful opportunity to encourage turn-taking, cooperation and helping one another as they learned alongside their friends. 🤝💛

Through play, curiosity and collaboration, our tamariki are building confidence and making meaningful connections with their learning!

🌼💛 Daffodil Day at Go Bananas Childcare Highland Park 💛🌼

Today at Go Bananas Childcare Highland Park, we came together to recognise Daffodil Day, a nationwide initiative that raises awareness and support for people and families affected by cancer.

It was a special opportunity for our tamariki to learn about kindness, empathy, understanding and compassion. We talked about how we can show care and support to people who may be going through a difficult journey. 🌼

Through simple conversations and meaningful activities, we encouraged our children to understand that a little kindness can make a big difference. 💛

We proudly stand together with all those affected by cancer and their loved ones. 🌼

✨ BOOK WEEK AT GO BANANAS CHILDCARE HIGHLAND PARK! ✨📚

What a wonderful way to celebrate the magic of books, imagination and a love of reading! ❤️📖

Throughout Book Week, we are encouraging our tamariki to discover the joy of books and experience the endless benefits of reading — from building language and communication skills to developing creativity, imagination, concentration, confidence and emotional understanding. 🌈🧠💕

Our tamariki have also been bringing along their favourite books from home to share with their friends and kaiako. It has been so special seeing their excitement as they talk about the stories and characters they love. 📚🥰

And today was extra special! 🎉 We dressed up as our favourite book characters and had our very own Book Week parade! 👑🦸‍♀️🧙‍♂️🐻✨

There were so many wonderful costumes, big smiles and lots of storytelling magic! Our tamariki showed us that books can take us anywhere, introduce us to new worlds and inspire us to dream big. 🌟📖

How Do You Want to Dress Your Friend Today? 👕👗🧢

Today, the children enjoyed a fun, hands-on learning activity that combined dress-up play with early division and sharing skills.

Working together, the children chose clothing items for their friends and explored how to share items equally into groups. They counted, grouped, compared, and talked about what makes sharing fair. 🧦👟👒

This playful experience supported children’s mathematical thinking, problem-solving, communication, cooperation, and social skills while making learning meaningful and enjoyable. 💕🔢

Even on those chilly winter days, we’re making the most of the sunshine and getting outdoors! 💛 Our tamariki had a wonderful time enjoying the fresh air, having fun, and getting hands-on with planting. 🌿🌻

Planting, exploring and caring for nature gives our tamariki such a beautiful learning experience — watching things grow, working together, and enjoying the outdoors. 🌱🪴
