As people we naturally compare ourselves to those around us! Growing up we had our siblings to contend with - “can’t you just be like your sister”.
In the classroom we had our peers “look how nicely ***** is sitting” and then there is the age of social media where we can see everyone “living their best life!”
How do we deal with comparison at an early age and help children to focus on themselves and their effort and achievement rather than looking at outside sources! We are told to “follow our dreams” and “everything is possible” and we see these stories come true across all media platforms! However, behind each story is a tale of failure, lessons learned and a resilient work ethic which needs to be explore more! We need to follow our dreams and work hard to achieve them!
We are all on our own journey.. and the key to understanding that is understanding what is real and what is the story that your brain is telling you to believe! Step by step we can make the progress that we need and our success criteria may change along the way! The only measurements you need to make is to see the distance you have travelled!
Remind that 5 year old you of just how far you have come and overcome! If only someone could let 5 year olds know that they only need to focus on their journey đź’š

What we believe in is what gives us the strength, determination and resilience to grow in this turbulent and overwhelming world. đź’š
Our family, education and lived experiences create who we are but this conditioning isn’t fixed and we can learn to change it and raise the ceiling on our own self belief.
Recognition and awareness of our limits is key to our own self development.
Our words and beliefs can also impact those around us so be kind to you and others and push beyond our limiting beliefs.

Happy New Year đź’š
With a new year can come new perspectives, new energy, new ideas and it can be exciting!
But it can also come with higher expectations, more pressure to achieve and greater responsibilities.
Goal setting is powerful if used in the right capacity for you! Be SMART about what “success” looks like for YOU across all areas of your life.
Take everything step by step, don’t bite off more than you can chew, Rome wasn’t built in a day etc. etc.
Make goals that work for you to build whatever it is that makes you feel content đź’š

We all probably have a complicated relationship with failure. We fear it because we don’t want to let anyone down, we don’t want to leave ourselves open to being vulnerable and therefore we don’t take the risks that we should.
However, reflect on the best choices you have made in your life- they were probably the most difficult and the ones where failure would have had big repercussions. However, you made them.
We need to embrace failure and reset our mindset around success because life is not linear. Success is short lived and we have to work for it. Without failing along the way, we wouldn’t learn, grow and develop into the person we want to become.
Love your learning journey too.. we’re all on one. 💚

“Hands Up” is an experience we all have had, and probably associate with school. This is how our parents, grandparents etc communicated with the teacher.
Is it time for this phrase to develop and catch up to the fast paced world we’re in?
We’re trying to instil life-long skills in the classroom- the art of conversation, collaboration, deep thinking and questioning.
Does this fit with that? Or is this something you could adapt for the world were in now.
The students we have in front of us now could go on to a career that doesn’t even exist currently. Are we truly preparing them? Hands Up If you Know the answer ✋🧩

Identifying your Core Values and what is really a priority to you is part of understanding your own identity.
We often believe that we are living by our values, but when we reflect on our day to day, we may need to make some changes.
When it comes to your Personal Values, they can’t help but overlap into your professional setting.
Often when we find our values don’t align with our actions, our workplace, or the people around us, change is needed.
Are you willing to make it? 💚🧩

What we can perceive to be an act of kindness on our behalf, can sometimes be us taking the easy way out.
It is natural for us to avoid conflict, we’ve grown up to believe that it is bad and therefore should be avoided. However, conflict is what helps us grow and develop, it makes us into who we are.
We need to be clear about our views, visions and opinions, they are perfectly valid. It doesn’t make them superior to anybody else’s, but they deserve to be heard.
Take risks and question those around you if you disagree. These will be the most worthwhile conversations you have.
The more clarity and transparency we have in a workplace, the more successful and productive it will be.
Communication is Key 🧩

Who do you trust to listen, care, support, motivate, advise and nurture you when you need it?
The connections we make and the people we surround ourselves with are vital.
Who are the people you choose for your own Personal Board of Directors?

The relationships we prioritise and give meaningful time to are the ones who create our foundations and outlook on the world around us.
This impacts us personally but also professionally, whether we realise it or not!
Don’t be afraid to let your Board of Directors know who they are.

The decision is yours… but choose wisely! 🧩
