Wrapping up 2025 at L’Accademia 🎶

As we close the year, we’re feeling proud and grateful.

Our end-of-year student concerts celebrated not only results, but the steady work, curiosity, and courage our students have shown throughout the year. From first steps at Grade 1 to Diploma ARSM, many of our students achieved distinctions — a reflection of commitment and love for the process — as well as patience of our teachers :)

Thank you to our students for trusting the journey, and to families for the support, time, and care that make this work possible.

Thank you also to our team Bernini Chan, Minrui Yang, Ellen Hou and Michael Song for your invaluable support in inspiring these young and promising musicians!

Looking ahead, we’re excited to return in the new year with masterclasses, concerts, and new shared musical experiences — continuing to grow a space where learning, listening, and confidence can flourish.

We look forward to welcoming New York musical sensation Francesca Khalifa to our music centre in St Heliers. This is her first time in the North Island: her last tour in the South Island was met with rapturous applause and standing ovations so we are very excited to have her with us next weekend on 10th August 6pm at 100 St Heliers Bay Rd.

Francesca has a startling talent and is constantly searching for innovation in her field of performance and musicianship. Most recently she has been researching the teaching legacy of renowned Chilean pianist Claudio Arrau which has evolved into not only a book but also a documentary film.

Bravo to this incredible group of musicians who performed at L'Accademia's end-of-year Junior and Gala recitals over the past two days! It has been a joy to witness such growth and passion, from our little beginners to stunning renditions of Beethoven, Mozart, Ginastera, Granados, and Chopin.

Your dedication and artistry on stage were inspiring. We’re so proud of all your hard work and can’t wait to see what 2025 holds for this talented community of music makers!

Congratulations to this little troupe of musicians for their dedication and work towards our mid-year concert in St Heliers. The Community came together to support you and was treated to a full program of classical and romantic gems.

We are looking forward to the next concerts in our series Musical Offerings with different invited guest artists and our end of year Gala in December.

🎹We are delighted to welcome our new piano teacher, Erin Fagan to our team!🎹

Erin has a Postgraduate music degree in composition from the University of Auckland, and over 15 year’s experience teaching piano, theory and composition.

A few words from Erin:
"Born and raised in West Auckland, Erin is a freelance composer, arranger, music educator and pianist. A post-graduate student of Auckland University, Erin achieved First-Class Honours in Composition in 2015 and has since been working as a composer for theatre, musicals, short films, chamber groups, orchestras and more. Erin has 15 years’ experience, teaching, accompanying and performing across Auckland also; having taught piano, theory and composition both privately and in professional studios, as well as a period of lecturing at Unitec and two years managing a West Auckland music school. Most recently, Erin has had works performed by the Auckland Symphony Orchestra, Manukau Symphony Orchestra and Wairua Sinfonietta, for which he is currently their inaugural Composer-in-Residence".

🎻We are delighted to welcome our new violin teacher, Wellington de Jesus Silva, to our team of teachers.

Wellington has a bachelor of music degree and over 12 year’s experience in teaching and performance.

A few words from Wellington:
"I absolutely love being outdoors, whether it's a chill park stroll, a challenging hike, or rocking out at a concert. When it comes to teaching, I pride myself on connecting with my students. I strive to make learning enjoyable and meaningful for them. Whether it's helping them grasp a tricky concept or cheering them on as they overcome challenges, I'm there every step of the way. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable, confident, and excited about their progress."
