Cherry Music Studio is looking for a fantastic piano teacher to join our team starting in Term 2!
We've been offering 1:1 private music lessons since 2018 at our Mt. Eden branch, and since 2024 at our Hobsonville branch and through partnerships with primary schools.
Our students, primarily Year 1 to Year 8, enjoy personalised 30-minute sessions once a week.

Qualifications:

1. We are seeking a piano teacher with a passion for music who is capable of teaching piano from foundational concepts to intermediate proficiency.

2. Applicants must possess a valid visa that permits legal employment in New Zealand for a minimum duration of one year.

3. For our Hobsonville OR/both Mount Eden Branch, we require candidates who are available to work from 3:30 PM onwards on at least one weekday between Monday and Friday.

4. Optional: We are also looking for candidates who can provide daytime piano instruction at a school in Ellerslie, specifically between 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM.

5. Successful candidates will be able to align their work schedule with the New Zealand primary/middle school calendar, which typically involves a 10-week lesson schedule followed by a 2-week break(no lesson).
The specific work period for this role is from April 20, 2026, to December 19, 2026.

School Holiday MUSIC program is back! 🎶
We sang🎤, played different instruments🪘, learn how to play piano/ukulele, learn music theory and different styles of music🎹, music therapy time where we explore different emotions, and how to regulate stress/anger! Lots of noises with boomwhakers and handbells, and it was so great to hear children's giggling.
We will see you again next Monday and Wednesday!👍😍

Our music studio has been providing friendly and quality music lessons to all ages and levels based in the Mt Eden area since 2018. If you are looking for a happy working environment and are passionate about teaching piano or violin, please contact us now.

We are looking for a co-worker who is
1) Qualified with a music degree at the university (or currently studying music degree) and have an advanced music grade in piano/violin (Trinity or ABRSM at least grade 8), and can teach up to Grade 5 music theory
2) Has good communication skills - can chat with students' parents on a student's progress in English
3) Friendly and patient in teaching music – for young beginners, too!
4) Is eligible to work legally in NZ and can stay with us long-term
5) Can commit to teaching piano on one or more days a week and can stay with us at least for a year

*minimum hourly rate from $35~ 38 depends on your teaching experience.

We had loads of fun at the 2023 Cherry Music Studio
End of Year concert!!
Each student played a piece from a chosen country, and some students wore traditional dresses or costumes!
One student sang NZ national anthem in Maori while playing the piano! 🎤🎶
One student brought 2 dresses for different instruments and countries! Ireland for piano, Latin america for cello. 🥻🪭
Our piano teacher Minrui performed her second instrument viola, together with Rebekah. 🎻🎹
