💙 A Special Father’s Day Guest in Our Waiti Room! 💙

As part of our Father’s Day celebration, our Waiti Room was very lucky to have a special guest, Ashok, join us for mat time! 🌟

Ashok spent some lovely time with our tamariki, reading stories and singing songs together. The children were excited to have a dad taking the lead and enjoyed listening, joining in with the actions, and sharing lots of smiles along the way. 📚🎶

Having our parents and whānau involved in children’s everyday learning makes these moments even more meaningful and helps strengthen the special connection between home and our centre. ❤️

A big thank you to Ashok for sharing his time with our Waiti tamariki and making our Father’s Day celebration extra special! 💙

To all our amazing dads and father figures — thank you for the love, encouragement, strength and care you give your children every day. You play such an important part in their lives, and today we celebrate you! 💙

We hope you all have a wonderful Father’s Day this Sunday, filled with lots of love and special family moments.

Happy Father’s Day! 👔💙✨

🎯 Little Hands, Big Thinking!

Who knew a cardboard box, a few holes and some colourful balls could create so much fun? 😊

Our tamariki had a wonderful time exploring this simple posting and matching activity outdoors. They carefully chose their balls, looked for the right opening, and worked out how to push them through. There was plenty of watching, trying, thinking… and trying again!

Along the way, the children were strengthening their hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness and problem-solving skills, while also learning to share the space, wait for a turn and enjoy discoveries alongside their friends. 💛

Sometimes the simplest resources inspire the biggest thinking! 🌱✨

🌼 Daffodil Day at Rising Stars Lynfield 🌼

Today our tamariki joined in celebrating Daffodil Day, filling our room with beautiful shades of yellow and green. 💛

Through painting and creative exploration, the children created their own daffodils while learning that Daffodil Day is about hope, courage, kindness and caring for others. Each artwork was wonderfully different, reflecting the children’s own ideas and creativity.

It was a lovely opportunity to introduce our tamariki to the importance of kindness and helping our wider community — even small acts of care can make a difference. 🌼💛

Together, we can make a difference.

🌿 Little Hands, Big Discoveries!

Our tamariki have been enjoying a simple but engaging loose parts play experience outdoors. Using a recycled box with different-sized holes, the children experimented with pipe cleaners, sticks and other natural materials—pushing, threading, arranging and creating in their own ways. 🍃✨

There was no “right” way to play. Each child brought their own ideas, curiosity and imagination while strengthening their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and problem-solving.

Sometimes the simplest resources inspire the richest play! 💜

🤖🎨 X is for Box – Turning Boxes into Robots!

Our tamariki had so much fun exploring the letter X through a creative recycled-box project! 📦

Working together, the children painted large cardboard boxes, chose colours, and transformed everyday recycled materials such as bottle tops and plastic bottles into their very own colourful robots. 🤖💙💗

From painting and creating to putting on the final details, this experience was full of teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and imagination. We love seeing simple materials become something wonderful through the eyes and hands of our little learners! ✨

🎨 Little Artists, Big Imaginations! ✨

Our tamariki have been enjoying a wonderful art experience, using magazines, animal pictures, colours and their own imagination to create some very special characters! 🐷🦉🐯

The children chose different animal faces and then became the fashion designers — looking through magazines for inspiration and designing outfits for their characters. 👗🧥✨ We loved seeing how differently each child interpreted the idea and added their own creative details.

Through this experience, our tamariki explored creativity, self-expression, fine motor skills and decision-making, while learning that art doesn’t have to look the same — every idea can be unique! 💕

We absolutely love their imaginative creations! 🌟

🚒🔥 Fire Safety Learning at Rising Stars Lynfield 🔥🚒

Fire safety is an important life skill, and today our tamariki enjoyed an engaging fire safety session!

Together, we learned about:
🚨 What a smoke alarm does
🚒 The role of firefighters
🧯 How a fire extinguisher helps keep us safe
🏃‍♀️ Why we should "Get Out, Stay Out!" if there is a fire

The children were excited to see a real fire extinguisher, listened carefully to the story, asked thoughtful questions, and then explored the fire safety books independently. These experiences help children build confidence, develop an understanding of emergency procedures, and learn how to stay safe in everyday life.

A big thank you to Fire and Emergency New Zealand for providing these wonderful resources and helping us support children's learning about fire safety.

❤️ Learning how to stay safe today helps build confident and prepared citizens for tomorrow.
