π A Heartfelt Message from One of Our Families π
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing children grow in confidence, independence, and happiness during their time with us.
Recently, we received this beautiful feedback from Our family, and with their permission, we would love to share a small part of their journey.
"When we first came to New Zealand, everything was new to us β the culture, the teaching methods, and the environment. Aidan was shy and nervous about starting kindergarten. Making friends, eating well, and joining in learning experiences were all challenges for him.
Over time, with the love, care, and support of the Rising Stars team, Aidan became more confident, comfortable, and engaged. He built friendships, developed new skills, and grew into a happy learner who now feels confident at school.
We are truly thankful to the whole Rising Stars team for all the love, care, and support given to our child and our family."
Reading messages like this reminds us why we do what we do every day. Early childhood education is about much more than preparing children for schoolβit is about building relationships, creating a sense of belonging, and supporting each child to thrive at their own pace.
Thank you to Aidan and his whΔnau for trusting us to be part of your journey. We are so proud of everything Aidan has achieved and feel privileged to have shared this special chapter with your family.
β¨ Every child grows differently, but every child deserves to feel loved, valued, and capable.

ππ Celebrating Kingβs Birthday at Rising Stars Lynfield! ππ
What a royal day we had celebrating Kingβs Birthday!
Our tamariki arrived dressed as princes and princesses, filling the centre with excitement, imagination, and plenty of royal charm. Throughout the day, the children enjoyed a special High Tea experience, gathering together to share delicious treats, practise table manners, and enjoy conversations with their friends.
One of the highlights of the celebration was learning the Waltz. The children had so much fun moving gracefully to the music, practising their dance steps, and experiencing a little piece of royal tradition. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they danced together and supported one another.
Through these meaningful experiences, children explored creativity, social connections, cultural traditions, and a sense of belonging within our learning community.
A big thank you to our whΔnau for helping the children look so royal today. We hope everyone enjoyed this special celebration as much as we did! ππ

π Exploring Autumn Through Art π
Today our tamariki enjoyed a beautiful hands-on autumn art experience! Using different textures and creative tools, the children stamped bright red paint to create autumn trees and added colourful leaves to their artwork. ππ¨
This activity encouraged creativity, fine motor development, and problem-solving as the children explored how different materials could make unique patterns and textures. It was lovely to see their concentration, excitement, and pride while creating their own masterpieces.
Through these experiences, children are developing confidence to express their ideas, make choices, and share conversations with their peers. π³β¨

π€ Happy New Zealand Sign Language Week! π€
This week, our tamariki explored New Zealand Sign Language by learning how to sign their own names through a fun cutting and matching activity. βοΈπ
The children carefully cut out the hand signs, matched the letters, and proudly created their own sign language names. Through this hands-on experience, they were developing fine motor skills, letter recognition, problem-solving, and an understanding of inclusive communication.
It was wonderful to see the excitement and concentration as the children discovered new ways to express themselves and connect with others. π

π· A Special Motherβs Day Celebration π·
Today, we had a truly beautiful and meaningful Motherβs Day celebration at our centre. Everything went so smoothly, and our hearts are full of gratitude π
This year, we created a special space for our mums to enjoy some time just for themselves β through gentle dance and movement, followed by a relaxing afternoon tea.
A special thank you to Ella Kumar, our wonderful friend, who guided our mums through the movement session with warmth and care. Her presence made the experience even more meaningful and uplifting β€οΈ
Motherhood is filled with love, but it also often means putting others first. Today, we took a moment to reflect on how precious personal time becomes after becoming a mum β and how important it is to reconnect with yourself.
Through movement, laughter, and quiet conversations, we saw our mums relax, smile, and simply be themselves again. It was such a joy to witness β€οΈ
Thank you to all the wonderful mums who joined us β you deserve this and so much more.
Happy Motherβs Day πΈ

πΊ Lest We Forget β ANZAC Day Reflection πΊ
Today, we were honoured to welcome a very special guest Sub-Lieutenant Vinayak from the Royal New Zealand Navy, to our centre. Vinayak shared a meaningful story with the children β βMy Grandad Marched on ANZAC Day.β
Through his storytelling, the children were gently introduced to the significance of ANZAC Day and the importance of remembering the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives. Together, we took a quiet moment to reflect and honour them.
The children also participated in a small remembrance activity, placing beautiful red poppies as a symbol of respect and gratitude β€οΈ
It was a heartfelt and meaningful experience, helping our tamariki begin to understand remembrance, respect, and appreciation in a way that is age-appropriate and meaningful.
Thank you, Vinayak, for sharing this special moment with us.

πΏ A Sweet Moment of Connection π―
We were so grateful to welcome Thusalini into our baby room, sharing a special cultural experience with our tamariki through making thriposha (a traditional Sri Lankan sweet treat) π
What made this moment even more meaningful was the beautiful connection between mother and child. Sitting side by side, sharing, guiding, and exploring together β these gentle interactions created a warm and nurturing learning space for everyone.
Through pouring, mixing, and shaping, our children were not only developing their fine motor and sensory skills, but also experiencing the joy of learning within relationships that feel safe, familiar, and full of love.
Thank you, Thusalini, for sharing both your culture and these precious moments with us. It is these everyday connections that help our children feel a true sense of belonging πβ¨
