f you’re 40+ and you already do plenty of walking, running, dog walking in our local area (Mount Eden, Sandringham, Epsom, Balmoral) - we love that. Steady Cardio is a huge win for heart health, mobility, and mood.
One thing most people don’t realise though is that, as we age, strength or resistance training becomes more important than it’s ever been. It keeps you mobile, keeps you capable, and keeps you safe. It supports joints, bones, and helps keep your body feeling solid for day-to-day life (and weekends like golf, skiing, long walks, etc).
Nothing extreme. Nothing exhausting. Just the basics, performed consistently and done well. Read up on the benefits that you could gain from some well structured strength and resistance training.

Yes tech is amazing and can do wonderful things for you, but similarly, it’s a bit of a danger to become so reliant on it that you forget how to live your life.
You are the one in control, you know how you feel. Your watch isn’t magic.
Use activity trackers as a guide, then train anyway. Link in bio.

30 Minute personal training - the most efficacious solution
At The Active Lifestyle we specialise in 30 minute, express training sessions. (There is also a 45 minute timeslot available if you would prefer this.)
This is so that we can be as effective as possible - by personalising everything to you and your needs, we can focus on the muscle groups that you need to focus on to keep you healthy, build your strength, and remain injury free. Our programs are all done personally by James to make sure that you are getting what you need, without the fluff. Lest we forget.
It is important to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in order to give us the lives that we currently live.
Whatever your views on war, and whether those fighting believe that they are doing the just thing or not, many thousands of people in history have given their lives, often at the behest others, to ensure ‘freedom’ for people who aren’t them.
And that, for me at least, is why we will remember them.
