At Lollipops Green Bay, birthdays are about so much more than cake—they’re about creating meaningful memories and giving back to our learning community.

A huge thank you to one of our wonderful families who chose to celebrate their daughter’s birthday by gifting our classroom these beautiful, thoughtfully planned sensory and science experiences. From colourful potion-making invitations and sparkling frozen treasures to hands-on exploration with pipettes, water, glitter, and loose parts, every activity sparked curiosity, creativity, and joyful conversations among our tamariki.

It was heartwarming to see the children immersed in experimenting, discovering, and learning together through play. These are the moments that make our centre so special.

Our tamariki have been busy exploring playdough using a variety of natural and open-ended resources. From rolling and pressing to creating their own unique designs, every squish, squeeze, and shape helps strengthen little hands while encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and imaginative thinking.

Our tamariki were fascinated as they watched a tree being carefully trimmed. Their curious minds were full of questions as they observed the equipment, listened to the sounds, and wondered how such a big job was done. These real-life experiences spark conversations, encourage critical thinking, and help children make meaningful connections with the world around them.

At our centre, we embrace spontaneous learning opportunities, turning everyday moments into rich educational experiences. By following children’s interests and curiosity, we nurture confident learners who love to observe, question, discover, and explore.

💛 Sharing is Caring 💛

Some of the most meaningful learning happens in the simplest moments. Today, we witnessed a beautiful act of kindness as one child happily shared their sand play tools with a friend. These small gestures help build big hearts.

At our centre, we intentionally nurture values such as kindness, empathy, sharing, and respect through everyday play. By creating a warm, supportive environment, children learn how to care for one another, build friendships, and develop the social skills that will stay with them for life.

We believe every interaction is an opportunity to grow confident, compassionate, and capable learners. It’s these precious moments that make our centre such a special place to learn, play, and belong. 💕🌱

✨ A Matariki Adventure to Remember! ✨

As part of our Matariki celebrations, our preschool children enjoyed an exciting visit to Stardome, where curiosity and imagination came to life. 🌌⭐

From exploring the wonders of the night sky to discovering planets, stars, and space, our tamariki were captivated by the hands-on experiences and interactive exhibits. It was a wonderful opportunity to extend their learning beyond the classroom, encouraging curiosity, exploration, and a love for science and the world around them.

At our centre, we believe that meaningful learning happens through real-life experiences. We love creating opportunities for children to explore, ask questions, make discoveries, and build lasting memories with their friends.

✨ Celebrating Matariki in Our Baby Room ✨

Our little learners have been exploring the magic of Matariki through a creative star-painting and decorating activity. Using a variety of colours and materials, the tamariki enjoyed expressing themselves while developing their fine motor skills, creativity, and sensory awareness.

As we celebrate the Māori New Year, this meaningful experience provided an opportunity to introduce the stars of Matariki and create a warm sense of wonder, belonging, and connection. We loved seeing each child’s unique masterpiece shine bright, just like the stars in the Matariki cluster. ⭐🌟
