Excellent training today in spite of the cold! 🥶

This evening we focused on connections between kaiten nage and tenchi nage (as well as keeping warm 😂).

Dōjō member Fiona is currently in Tokyo and is taking the opportunity to get some training in. Here she is with Kenta Shimizu Sensei from Aikidō Tendokan in Setagaya ward, Tokyo.

Part of this week's training involved techniques from sodeguchidori (cuff/sleeve grab). They're fun and challenging as there's minimal initial contact to work with.

The first two images are of Paul and Kirsty practicing kokyunage from sodeguchidori, and the third image is of Saito Sensei demonstrating full kazushi (balance breaking)! The image is from the cover of his book Takemusu Aikidō Book 4: Kokyunage (1997).

Sometimes training feels like you have this many limbs!
