RUNNING CLUB: Just one more run before our school cross country event on Thursday - and another chance to build your fitness towards the Catholic Schools Cross Country event! Starts at 8:15am - looks to be a fun opportunity to run through squelching, muddy puddles! Come in running gear with a towel, bottle of water and uniform to change back into! No cancellation - alternative wet weather activities planned. See you there! Please come in the gates by the Junior and Middle Hubs, (not the office or Senior gate - they open at 8:30am).

Today was the beginning of the ‘Season of Creation’ and so we recognised this with a Creation Prayer Walk this morning. Originally planned to take place outside, the weather dictated otherwise. Nonetheless, the students embraced the opportunity to think about the world around us and their obligations to God by being Kaitiakitanga of our planet.

Akira has done it again! Picking up gold and silver medals, representing Monte in the Auckland Primary Schools karate event and then competing in the National karate competition. He is definitely one to keep an eye on! Well done Akira, we are proud of you.

Football training started last week. We had fantastic numbers turn out for this and so we are extremely grateful to the parent coach volunteers who are helping to run this.

Day 1 of EPro8 (an engineering kit and competition) for our Year 5 & 6 learners began with exploring the equipment and learning how it all works. Later they moved onto a Crane building challenge and a Maths problem solving task. Working in mixed teams of 5 or 6, the students seemed to breeze through the tasks, thriving on the opportunity to get some ‘hands on’ explorative learning and collaborate in teams. Roll on Days 2 and 3!
