🧡 Fine Motor Fun! 🧡

Today our children enjoyed a hands-on fine motor activity using small tongs to pick up and place colourful pom poms onto rows of tape! 🌈

This simple activity encouraged the children to practise their hand-eye coordination, concentration, and fine motor skills while having lots of fun exploring colours and patterns. 👐✨

Our younger children had a wonderful time enjoying some splashy indoor fun! 😊
They had lots of fun playing with water, exploring and interacting with our little ducks. There were plenty of smiles, giggles and happy faces throughout the activity! 🐥

Sensory Play with Coloured Rice! 🔴🟡🟢🔵
We explored a fun sensory experience using colourful rice in red, yellow, green, and blue! 🌾✨

The children enjoyed scooping, pouring, mixing and transferring the rice, while using their senses to explore the different colours and textures.

Through this experience, the children were developing:

🔹 Fine motor skills through grasping, scooping and pouring
🔹 Hand-eye coordination as they transferred rice between containers
🔹 Early mathematical skills through counting, comparing quantities and exploring more/less
🔹 Colour recognition as they identified and named the different colours
🔹 Language development as they described what they could see and feel
🔹 Sensory awareness by exploring texture, sound and movement
🔹 Concentration and problem-solving as they experimented with different ways to fill and empty containers

❄️☃️ Snow Day at Lollipops! ☃️❄️

What a magical day!
Our tamariki were so excited to see the snow and couldn't wait to head outside to explore. From making footprints, throwing snowballs, and sharing lots of giggles, it was a day full of smiles and unforgettable memories. 🤍
